Although new to Colorado, Dr. Barney is not new to caring for your oral and maxillofacial surgical needs. Dr. Barney attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and graduated in 1992. After graduation, he practiced general dentistry for one year before following his passion for oral surgery. He completed a 1 year general practice residency with an emphasis in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola Hospital of Chicago. He completed his residency in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at UCLA/Harbor Medical Center in 1998 and became Board Certified in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 2003 and recently became re-certified in 2013. For over 14 years before moving to Colorado, Dr. Barney enjoyed his thriving private practice in the California costal communities of Palos Verdes, San Pedro, and Torrance. Also, Dr. Barney was an examiner for the State of California Dental Board performing site visits for dental and medical offices to approve their sedation and general anesthesia skills and procedures for licensure.
