I had a very disappointing experience with Safeway Pharmacy on Perry Street, and I would strongly caution others before relying on this location for their medications.
Last month, I called about a refill and was told it could be ready in 15 minutes—right as they were closing. Trying to be understanding, I told them I would simply pick it up the next morning instead of rushing them. I assumed this would be appreciated as basic courtesy.
However, when I recently called to refill again, I was told it was “a day early.” Instead of taking a moment to understand the situation or look at my history, the pharmacist immediately began questioning me about why I was short on tablets, in a way that felt accusatory and inappropriate. The reason was simple: I delayed my previous pickup out of courtesy to their schedule.
The interaction felt less like patient care and more like being interrogated. The tone was rude, dismissive, and frankly unprofessional. Patients should not be made to feel judged or treated with suspicion when simply trying to manage their prescriptions responsibly.
If you’re looking for a pharmacy where communication is respectful and patient-focused, this is not it. There are plenty of other options that treat people with basic dignity.
The pharmacist I spoke with today is not the usual pharmacist who is respectful I could tell because he would never talk like that, but it only takes one rotten apple to ruin the whole batch.

I have used this pharmacy for over 3yrs.....staff are always pleasant and efficient. I use their online site for requesting refills. I receive text messages when my scripts are available ...very helpful and it avoids any second trips. Refill requests are processed promptly ....certainly can't ask for anything more.

The pharmacist had the dirtiest white coat in I have EVER seen. Which is concerning when you’re handling medications. I couldn’t believe how filthy it was.

Why is reviewing my Medicare plan every year important?
Reviewing your Medicare plan every year is important because Medicare Advantage (Part C) and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Part D) can change annually. These changes may affect your coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and provider network. By reviewing your plan during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, you can ensure it still meets your healthcare needs and budget—and switch plans if necessary.
