Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I want to start off by saying that this has been my "home" grocery store for nearly 20 years and I've never had a single issue with this store until last night. I booked an appointment online for a flu shot at 7:30pm on October 26th. I'm an RN and I work long/odd hours sometimes and was so grateful that this location offered evening appointments because it worked around my difficult schedule. The pharmacy tech who greeted me was kind, but as soon as they walked away to notify the pharmacist that they were going to prepare a vaccine, the pharmacist immediately started complaining (loudly and openly - mind you, I'm sitting <10 feet away in the waiting area) that he hated that the system let people book appointments for the evening because he has a family to get home to. Another staff member loudly stated "at least this one is early for once". This conversation continued for several minutes while I sat waiting to be called back. Working in healthcare, I understand that the hours and the tasks and dealing with the general public can be grueling, but I went from being so grateful for their time to being extremely uncomfortable to the point where I nearly walked out because I wasn't sure I could trust them with my care. At the end of the day, the last place that I wanted to be at 7:30pm on a weeknight was at the pharmacy getting a vaccine, but I wasn't expecting it to be nearly as unpleasant as it was. My hope is that the staff will work to be more conscientious of their surroundings and courteous to the patients that they're serving.

While recently getting vaccines updated, my son who had recently turned 26, had not yet received updated insurance information at the time of the visit. The pharmacy tech Logan and the pharmacist were so friendly and went out of their way to contact the insurance carrier to obtain the information. The nurse who gave the vaccine was also incredibly friendly and helpful. It was a very positive experience and would highly recommend this pharmacy.

I have been actively coming to this kingsoopers for a few months now and have had no problem until yesterday when I came in with my family to buy groceries for dinner. A cashier named LINA was very disrespectful towards us, she stood directly behind us the whole time as we checked out and paid for our items. In a time where discrimination against the Latino community is at an all time high I’d hope and had expected some safety in my favorite grocery store. As the only Mexicans in the checking out area she targeted us directly, we were not the only people checking out. She treated us as if we were thieves or criminals who needed to be watched over. I asked her if she needed anything due to her standing right next to me and looking over my cousins shoulder. She was disrespect and said no and asked me if I did which I replied no to since I know how to scan groceries. Very disappointing since I did not expect kingsoopers to approve such racially motivated actions from their employees
