Invisalign

If you want straighter teeth but don’t like the appearance or hassle of clunky metal braces, the Invisalign® system may be your ideal solution. Using clear, removable plastic aligners, Invisalign is a comfortable and discreet way to address cosmetic misalignment issues without the need for metal wires and brackets. What Is Invisalign? Invisalign clear braces are transparent plastic shells that are worn over the teeth to give you a straight, attractive smile without the associated brackets and wires. The Invisalign system can correct mild to moderate crowding and spacing issues, but may not be appropriate for more severe misalignment issues. Our dentists will thoroughly examine your teeth and bite and explain all of your options. How Does Invisalign Work? Invisalign works much like traditional braces; your teeth are gradually shifted into their desired positions over a period of time. However, instead of having to deal with the discomfort, hassle and appearance of metal braces, you simply wear a series of customized plastic aligners. A digital plan is developed specifically for you to safely and precisely adjust the alignment of your teeth. As you move from one aligner to the next, your teeth slowly straighten. In order to achieve optimal results, you must wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day, but you can easily remove them when you eat and brush your teeth. You will switch to a new set of aligners every two weeks, and only need to come back to our office occasionally to ensure your treatment is progressing correctly. Benefits of Invisalign Invisalign presents a great opportunity to get straight teeth without having to suffer the dreaded “metal mouth.” The wires and brackets used in conventional braces can lead to cuts and irritation in your cheeks and lips. However, Invisalign clear aligner trays are completely discreet and don’t cause any discomfort. Many patients choose Invisalign for any of the following benefits: Comfort: The Invisalign aligner trays have smooth edges. This prevents your teeth and gums from becoming irritated during your teeth-straightening process. Convenience: Although they need to be worn at least 20-22 hours a day, Invisalign aligners can be removed at any time. This convenient benefit allows you to eat all of your favorite foods and care for your teeth like you normally would. Clear: Invisalign’s clear aligners are virtually unnoticeable, making them a far more appealing option than metal braces. Customization: Invisalign aligners are custom-crafted just for you, based on impressions made of your teeth. This ensures your treatment effectively addresses your unique needs and oral structure. Less time in the dentist’s chair: You only need to visit our office once every 4 – 6 weeks for a check-up, whereas braces require frequent office visits to be tightened and adjusted. The amount of time it will take for you to achieve optimal results will depend on your unique situation. However, most adults generally need about 12 months. What Issues Can Invisalign Address? Invisalign is a great way to correct certain cosmetic issues that you dislike about your smile. If you experience any mild to moderate occurrences of the following, Invisalign may be a good option: Overbite: A condition in which the upper front teeth overlap the lower front teeth. Underbite: A condition in which the lower front teeth overlap the upper front teeth. Crossbite: A lateral misalignment of the dental arches. Open bite: A condition in which the upper and lower teeth are unable to make contact with each other when the jaw is closed. Crowded teeth: A condition in which there is disharmony between the size of the jaw and the size of the teeth. Gaps between teeth: A condition in which there is a space or gap between two teeth, most often the upper front teeth. Schedule Your Invisalign Consultation Today The first step toward finding out if Invisalign can help you achieve the straight teeth and beautiful smile you desire is to schedule an initial appointment with one of the experienced dentists at Bromley Park Dental. Please call us now at 303-558-5870 to get started.

Thanks to their versatility, porcelain veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures performed today. Veneers can be used to address a wide range of aesthetic imperfections with your smile, but they aren’t always the right choice for every situation. The best way to determine if veneers, or some other cosmic treatment, are a good match for your goals and budget is to visit Bromley Park Dental and speak directly with one of our experienced and knowledgeable dentists. If you live in the Brighton, Thornton, Commerce City or Fort Lupton areas of Colorado and are considering porcelain veneers to improve the appearance of your smile, please contact us today online or at 303-558-5870 to schedule an appointment. What Are Porcelain Veneers? Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of durable, dental-grade porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth to conceal a variety of aesthetic flaws. The material used in porcelain veneers mimics the translucent qualities of your natural teeth and can be customized to match the size, shape and color you desire to produce a beautiful, natural-looking appearance. Veneers can be used to address a broad array of dental issues, such as: Discolored teeth Slightly crooked teeth Gapped teeth Misshapen teeth Worn teeth Chipped or cracked teeth Uneven teeth Benefits of Porcelain Veneers Porcelain veneers are a truly versatile dental solution because they can conceal a number of aesthetic issues all at once. Assuming you don’t have any serious bite or alignment issues, they can be an alternative to other treatments such as Invisalign® or conventional braces. Although they appear delicate, dental veneers are quite durable and can resist stains and discoloration. Some of the benefits of porcelain veneers include: Fully customizable to achieve the color and shape you want Look like natural teeth, including a realistic luster Resistant to breaking and being scratched Resistant to discoloration Long-lasting Conceal multiple tooth issues at once Can be effective alternative to braces Can perfect a smile in a few short weeks You can care for your veneers just as you care for your normal teeth Am I a Good Candidate for Porcelain Veneers? Most patients who have generally healthy teeth and gums, do not grind their teeth and have realistic expectations are typically good candidates for veneers. Porcelain veneers may be a great option if you would like to correct any of the following cosmetic issues: Teeth with minor chips or cracks A crooked smile that does not impede functionality Gaps between teeth Irregularly shaped teeth Teeth that have worn over time Teeth that are discolored beneath the enamel and cannot be effectively treated with teeth whitening Crooked teeth that may not necessarily require braces The Skill of Your Dentist Matters The experience and skill of your dentist plays a large role in achieving a beautiful smile. We welcome young patients from Brighton, Thornton, Commerce City and Fort Lupton. Individualized Children’s Dentistry Small children, young adolescents and teenagers all need unique approaches to their oral care, helping them avoid dental problems and guiding their dental growth and development. Our compassionate and experienced dentists are dedicated to meeting these diverse needs. We offer a comprehensive range of dental services that address all of the varied dental needs of your children, including: Dental check-ups and cleanings Fillings for cavities Application of dental sealants Fluoride treatments Patient education Our dentists firmly believe in empowering children to take command of their dental health, which cannot be effectively done without parental involvement. We welcome parents to accompany children into the examination room and we encourage close involvement with your child’s dental hygiene routine at home. In addition to the health and preventative benefits of children’s dental visits, it’s important for your child to hear our dentists reinforce the importance of the good habits you are trying to instill at home. By working together, we can help establish good oral hygiene regimens that will benefit your child for years to come. A Gentle Dental Atmosphere Family dentistry is the heart of our practice, which is why we focus so much on providing gentle dental care. As part of our commitment to the comfort and satisfaction of our patients, we employ gentle techniques that curb anxiety and foster an environment of security and trust. We strive to deliver a conservative, relaxing approach to family dentistry. If it’s your child’s first visit to the dentist, or if your child has had negative experiences with other dental practices in the past, we understand that he or she may be nervous or afraid. By combining the friendly and encouraging demeanor of our dentists and staff with gentle techniques and sedation options, we can effectively provide a relaxed dental experience. For additional comfort, your child can relax and simply watch cartoons during treatment. Many times, we’ve found that enjoying a cartoon can relax a child even more than laughing gas. No matter the circumstances, we take the extra step to ensure you and your child feel cared for and at ease during every visit to our office. Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) When appropriate, some children are given “laughing gas” to help them relax during treatment. Laughing gas is a blend of two gasses: nitrous oxide and oxygen. The gas is mild, non-addictive and easily taken. It is delivered through a comfortable breathing mask which is positioned over the nose, helping your child relax, but remain awake and fully functional. Then, with regular breathing, the gas is quickly eliminated from the body. Prior to nitrous oxide sedation, please let us know: If your child is taking any medication on the day of the appointment If there are any respiratory conditions that make it difficult for your child to breathe through the nose – it may affect the effectiveness of the gas If there is a change to your child’s health or medical condition Your Child’s First Dental Exam At Bromley Park Dental, we start seeing children when they are about 2 years old. We call the first appointments with our very young patients “happy visits.” Dental Tips for a Lifetime of Good Oral Health At an early age, children understand the importance of a great smile. They are told to flash their grins and say “cheese” for countless pictures, selfies and status updates. However, the benefits of healthy teeth and gums involve much more than a pleasing smile. Good dental health is crucial to a child’s overall well-being and prevents serious problems, needless discomfort and saves money. There are a number of steps you can take as a parent right away to help your child enjoy a lifetime of good oral health, including: To learn more about the children’s dental services offered at Bromley Park Dental or to schedule a visit with our friendly dentists, please call us today at 303-558-5870. We happily welcome kids from Brighton, Thornton, Commerce City, Ft. Lupton and neighboring Colorado communities.

Even when damaged by decay or trauma, our natural teeth are quite durable and can still offer years of functionality with a little bit of dental support. Dental crowns can give that support by providing your tooth a strong, resilient surface. Crowns can also reduce tooth sensitivity and protect teeth from further damage. Dental bridges replace missing teeth with dental crowns supported by adjacent teeth. If your teeth are damaged or missing, call Bromley Park Dental today to schedule an appointment to discuss dental crowns, dental bridges and other options. You can reach us by completing the form on this page or calling 303-558-5870. Our Brighton office welcomes patients from nearby communities such as Thornton, Commerce City and Fort Lupton. Dental Crowns Dental crowns are sometimes referred to as caps because they cover damaged natural teeth like a cap, offering a new surface and increased stability. Crowns are durable alternatives to dental fillings for addressing a variety of tooth issues. Depending on your unique situation, our dentists may recommend a dental crown if you have a tooth that is: Chipped, cracked or broken Severely worn Severely stained Oddly shaped Decayed In need of protection after a root canal Suffering from failing fillings To help meet the individual needs of our patients, Bromley Park Dental offers two types of dental crowns: Porcelain crowns: Dental porcelain has the same luster and sheen as dental enamel, making it a very attractive and natural-looking restorative option. Dental porcelain also responds to thermal changes much like a natural tooth, helping to minimize heat sensitivity. While dental porcelain itself is very brittle, when it is bonded to your tooth, it is hard and durable. Zirconium crowns: Zirconium is a nearly indestructible type of crystal that when used as a crown, combines the attractive appearance of a porcelain crown with the strength and durability of a gold crown. Considering zirconium crowns are relatively the same cost as their porcelain counterparts, zirconium is quickly becoming a favored option. Dental Bridges It’s important to fill empty gaps as soon as you lose a tooth. When left untreated, open spaces in the mouth cause teeth to shift, which can cause trouble with your bite and oral health. A dental bridge is a prosthetic device that fills gaps left by missing teeth. Bridges consist of artificial teeth that are supported by crowns placed over adjacent teeth. Benefits of dental bridges include: Reduces the risk of gum disease and bone loss Distributes bite forces properly Improves your ability to chew and speak Prevents neighboring teeth from shifting out of position Prevents sunken facial appearance that results from missing teeth Eliminates gaps in your smile Restores a beautiful smile A dental bridge can provide an effective solution for tooth replacement, but it cannot prevent the bone loss that occurs naturally when a tooth is missing. Dental implants are needed to address bone loss. However, not every patient is a good candidate for dental implants, so it’s important to meet with one of our experienced dentists to fully understand all of your options. To learn more about dental crowns and dental bridges, please contact Bromley Park Dental today online or at 303-558-5870.

At Bromley Park Dental, we offer: Full dentures: These are used if you have an entire arch of teeth that need to be replaced. Partial dentures: This option is used when patients need dentures but still have some remaining natural teeth. Partial dentures are customized to seamlessly fill the empty spaces and fit comfortably. Implant-supported dentures: Implant-supported dentures are more secure than other denture options, and allow you to restore a strong bite and enjoy all the foods you love. By utilizing dental implants for strength, implant-supported dentures offer a number of benefits, including added jawbone health. Choosing the Right Tooth Replacement Option Dentures can be a great choice for replacing missing teeth, but they aren’t your only option. We offer a variety of tooth replacement options to meet the unique needs and budget of every patient. The best way to determine which option is right for you is to meet personally with one of our experienced dentists. During your visit, we will perform a thorough evaluation of your oral condition and take the time to get to know you and your individual goals. We will explain all of the factors you need to consider when weighing your tooth replacement options, such as: Longevity Function Comfort Appearance Dentures, dental implants and dental bridges are all effective tooth replacement options. We look forward to helping you determine the right option for you. Gum Disease

Although perfect teeth are the center of every smile, healthy gums are just as important. It’s estimated that nearly 80 percent of U.S. adults will develop some type of gum disease in their lifetime. The good news is that most cases of gum disease are mild and can be treated with advanced cleaning. However, when the condition advances, gum disease can present a number of oral and general health risks. If you are suffering from gum disease, please contact Bromley Park Dental today by completing the form on this page or calling 303-558-5870 to schedule an appointment. We proudly serve Brighton, Thornton, Commerce City, Fort Lupton and surrounding Colorado communities. What Is Gum Disease? Gum disease refers to gum infection and inflammation. All human mouths harbor bacteria that make up plaque, a sticky substance that adheres to teeth. When plaque is not sufficiently removed with proper dental hygiene, it hardens into tartar that irritates the gums, making them susceptible to infection. Gum disease has two stages: Gingivitis: Inflammation of the gums resulting from bacteria in plaque Periodontitis: Gums pull away from teeth, leaving pockets that can become infected by the bacteria in plaque In its early stages, gum disease rarely exhibits symptoms. However, as the condition progresses, you may notice: Red, inflamed gums Tender, swollen gums Loose teeth Longer-looking teeth Receding gums Gums that bleed when you brush and floss Causes of Gum Disease By far, the most common cause of gum disease is poor oral hygiene at home. This allows plaque to build on your teeth, creating harmful pockets of bacteria and damaging your gum tissue. Other potential causes of gum disease include: Health conditions that affect your body’s ability to fight infection Genetics Smoking or chewing tobacco Periodontal Treatment Gingivitis can usually be treated through a professional cleaning of the teeth and gums in addition to a more effective and consistent daily hygiene routine. In some cases, brushing after every meal, flossing twice a day and using an antibacterial mouthwash may be all that is necessary to treat this type of gum disease. However, periodontitis requires a more advanced approach. In order to effectively treat periodontitis, you will first need to visit our office so our dentist can assess how advanced your gum disease has become. Depending on the condition of your infection, we will determine the most effective way to eliminate bacteria, reduce areas of infection around your teeth and stimulate the healthy growth of tissue. Preventing Gum Disease The most effective way to prevent gum disease is to maintain a good dental hygiene routine at home. This should include: Brushing your teeth after every meal and snack with a soft-bristled toothbrush Flossing your teeth every morning and every night Visiting our Brighton office every six months for check-ups and cleanings Contact Bromley Park Dental Today If you are experiencing any symptoms of gum disease, it’s important to visit Bromley Park Dental right away. To schedule your visit , please call us at 303-558-5870 today.

Dental Implants

If you are missing one tooth or several teeth, dental implants are a great way to restore strength, beauty and functionality to your smile. Dental implants optimize your ability to chew, eat and speak by mimicking the natural structure of your tooth’s root. What Are Dental Implants? A dental implant is a strong, long-lasting tooth-replacement option that looks and functions like a natural tooth. Implants can be used to replace a single tooth or several teeth. They can also be used as anchors to support a dental bridge or complete a denture. Dental implants stand out from other tooth restoration options because of how they work. The implant itself is titanium and placed in the bone beneath your gums to serve as a replacement tooth root. A dental crown is then placed above the gum line to serve as the tooth replacement. Dental implants typically comprise three main elements: Implant: the titanium replacement tooth-root Abutment: connecting device used to attach the crown to the implant Crown or denture: the tooth replacement option which rests above the gum line Benefits of Dental Implants The most distinct advantage of dental implants is that they are the most long-lasting solution for tooth replacement available. After being inserted directly into your jaw, your implant will eventually become a part of your jawbone. This provides a solid foundation for your dental restoration, but it also prevents the risk of jaw deterioration or collapse. Your body uses signals from your tooth root to identify where bone is needed in your jaw. When a tooth is lost, the root is also lost, along with these signals. Dental implants act as a new tooth root, continuing these signals and preserving your facial structure. Other benefits of dental implants include: Easy maintenance: Other tooth replacement options can require inconvenient cleaning maintenance. Dental implants, on the other hand, are cared for in the same way you care for all of your teeth, requiring no special activities or precautions. Simply brush at least twice a day, floss daily and continue to see your dentist every six months for routine check-ups. Strength: Dental implants are crafted from durable materials: titanium and dental porcelain or zirconium. When implants are placed deep within your jawbone, they are remarkably strong and long-lasting. With proper dental hygiene, your implant can last for the rest of your life. Integration: In a process called osseointegration, your jaw’s bone tissue grows around the implant and fuses with it for a seamless integration. Comfort and convenience: The implant feels and functions like a natural tooth, no need for messy denture adhesives or partial dentures with clasps. You also won’t need to worry about increased sensitivity or tooth decay. Beauty: Implant crowns, bridges and dentures can be made from beautiful, all ceramic, or zirconium materials to provide attractive, natural-looking results. Reliability: Dental implants have a success rate of 95% to 98%. Am I a Good Candidate for Dental Implants? Dental implants are excellent tooth-replacement options, but they are not always appropriate in every situation; it’s essential to visit with our dentist to undergo a thorough examination and candidacy evaluation. Your health and safety are always our top priorities, and we will never recommend a procedure that isn’t right for your needs and physical characteristics. The requirements for successful implant treatment are relatively few. In fact, the majority of patients seeking dental implants are viable candidates. Generally speaking, you may be a good candidate for dental implants if you: Have a fully grown, matured jaw Don’t smoke Are not pregnant Do not grind your teeth Do not have gum disease Have the necessary bone density to support an implant Are in generally good health with no active infections It’s important to note that just because you may have one of the conditions listed above, you are not necessarily excluded from candidacy for dental implants. You may simply need to address one of these issues prior to treatment. For example, you may need a bone graft to achieve adequate bone density or you may need to undergo periodontal treatment to correct gum disease. The best way to determine if a dental implant is right for you is to meet personally with one of our experienced dentists. We will assess your candidacy as well as explain all of your other tooth replacement options to ensure you make an informed decision that best matches your needs, budget and lifestyle. Contact Bromley Park Dental Today to Discuss Dental Implants If you have one or missing teeth and would like to discuss all of your tooth replacement options, including dental implants, please contact Bromley Park Dental by completing the form on this page or calling 303-558-5870.

TMJ Treatment

Although they may not realize it, many Americans suffer from a common condition known as temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ). Just like every patient, each TMJ case is unique, and may involve a variety of seemingly unrelated symptoms. However, one concern tends to accompany the condition no matter who the patient is: pain. Fortunately, you don’t have to live with TMJ pain. The experienced dentists at Bromley Park Dental have the skill and knowledge needed to identify the source of your discomfort and get you back on track toward a healthy, comfortable state of oral health To learn more about TMJ and how Bromley Park Dental can help, please call 303-558-5870 to schedule an appointment. Our Brighton office happily welcomes patients from throughout our surrounding areas, including Thornton, Commerce City, and Ft. Lupton. What Is TMJ? Also called “TMD,” TMJ is an abbreviated way to refer to temporomandibular joint disorder, a condition that results from jaw misalignment. An intricate network of tendons, muscles, ligaments, nerves and bones lies just beneath your face and jaws. This complex system is responsible for a number of sensations and signals throughout your upper body. The temporomandibular joint is the ball-and-socket joint that connects your skull and jaw. When this pivotal joint becomes misaligned, it becomes irritated and places unnatural stress on the jaw area. However, it’s important to understand that this stress does not remain near your jaw; it extends to affect other parts of your body that you may not expect, such as your neck and back. Common Symptoms of TMJ In addition to the painful symptoms, TMJ can be a frustrating condition because its symptoms are so varied and easily confused with other less chronic, less severe conditions. Because of this, TMJ isn’t easy to diagnose, and without a proper diagnosis, treatment can’t begin. Some of the signs of TMJ that you should be aware of include: Chronic migraine-like headaches Difficulty chewing Facial swelling Ear ringing (tinnitus) Limited jaw mobility Popping or clicking sounds in your jaw Facial pain Lockjaw Neck pain Shoulder and upper back pain Jaw pain Most likely, you won’t experience every one of the symptoms listed above. However, if you do experience some of these symptoms and haven’t found any success in successful treatment, you may benefit from visiting our office for an examination. Our experienced and highly-trained dentists understand how to diagnose and treat TMJ. TMJ Treatment After diagnosing your TMJ, our first goal is to help manage the pain you are experiencing. Once we have relieved your pain, we’ll work on the underlying issues that caused your jaw to fall out of alignment. Contact Bromley Park Dental Today If you live in Brighton, Thornton, Commerce City, Ft. Lupton or a nearby area and want to learn more about TMJ, please contact us today online or at 303-558-5870.
