I have never written a bad review before, but I have had such a poor experience with this company that I felt the need to share. Since my dad has dementia, we asked for a caretaker that is experienced in dementia-specific care. During the intake, I told the team that experience should be the top priority over anything. Instead, we had a “kind-of” experienced person come to train somebody who literally had their first day in the industry in our home. This guy didn’t even know how to help my dad change his pull-ups when he was still mobile. Very simple stuff that frankly I’ve never been trained on myself, and have no business training him on. This theme continued throughout the time we were with them, and it ultimately became more work to have their caretakers in the home. We also paid a premium for dementia-care, but obviously the person who is brand new is not providing that value. We stayed with them until my dad was hospitalized. We need 30+ hours per week of care since then, and we actively avoided bringing them back because they were no help. They are also extremely disorganized as an organization. The care is the main reason we stopped working with them, and the admin & accounting teams have made sure we don't even explore other caretakers with them. Working with this company has been a headache, and I would suggest looking at other agencies for a significantly better experience. ***Update*** In response to the owner, who is trying to save face: #1 - Yes there were issues with care. That’s why you weren’t hired back, obviously. #2 - I have never requested 24 hour care from anybody, other than facilities we’ve looked into. If we found somebody else and went with them, maybe the care wasn’t as great as you say. Dementia patients require consistency in the people around them, so if the care was good, one would think we would want the same caregiver. But, as you said, I swiftly found someone else because the care was not good. #3 - Yes I was, because your staff had me under the impression that you owed me a deposit and were dodging paying. #4 - You did not call me regarding an “open balance,” you called me because your staff incorrectly informed me I was owed my deposit, when in fact, your accounting department failed to bill me 6 months ago. This operation is so poorly run that they had TWO bank accounts of mine and billed none of them for the entire time we were with them, except the deposit. Meaning while I’m currently paying for the care in my home, I had to pay them backpay for ALL of the services for the ENTIRE period we were with them (held deposit + charged me remaining balance). And then they insinuate that I don’t pay my bills when their accounting & admin staff failed to process the payment. When they finally figured out how to charge me, they were paid with no issue. As I said, A HEADACHE FROM START TO FINISH!

My family used this location of Home Instead to hire a caregiver for the afternoon/evening for my elderly mother who was in town for a family wedding. Both the staff to set up the care and the caregiver, Jordan, were absolutely fantastic. The communication from the staff was excellent, timely and very pleasant. Jordan was phenomenal, and was an immense help to our family during the wedding. She made the whole experience for my mom and family easy, comfortable, and fun. Top notch care all around!

I am a new client who signed up on short notice recently for my 84-year old father. So far, we have been very pleased with the service. The manager who did the intake was very responsive. She came out for the intake and explained the service very well and answer all of our questions. We set up an initial plan, but after two weeks we wanted to modify it and they were very flexible. My father likes the caregiver who comes several days/week on a regular basis. It's still early days but the first impression has been very strong.

I am writing this as a current client who has been genuinely disappointed with the administrative side of Home Instead over the past several months. When I first signed up for service, things felt organized, professional, and dependable. Unfortunately, something has clearly changed behind the scenes. At some point, rates were increased with very little notice, which was frustrating and difficult to plan for. Even more concerning, I have now been billed incorrectly on multiple occasions. I have also received another client’s invoice, which is alarming from both a privacy and professionalism standpoint. While the caregivers themselves have generally been kind and hardworking, the administrative side of the business has significantly declined since when I first started services. Phone calls about billing issues have become far too common, and I no longer feel confident that what I am being charged is accurate without double-checking everything, which as a client , I should not have to do . I don’t know what changed, but the lack of oversight, billing accuracy, and communication has been less than desirable. As of current , back office issues are overshadowing the care being provided and I am truly disappointed.

Unfortunately, the quality of this Home Instead office has gone downhill significantly since the previous manager left. There appears to be a complete lack of leadership and organization. Staff seem unsure of procedures, communication is inconsistent, and it often feels like no one truly knows what they are doing. What was once a well-run, reliable office, now feels chaotic and disorganized. Issues that should be handled quickly are either delayed or mishandled altogether. This has created frustration not only for us caregivers, but also for the clients we serve who depend on consistency and professionalism. Caregivers, who are the backbone of this business, do not feel appreciated or valued by ownership. As an example, caregivers received body wash as a Christmas gift, which felt dismissive given the demanding and essential work they do every day. Home care requires strong leadership, respect for staff, and clear systems. Sadly, those elements seem to be missing. I hope ownership takes notice and makes meaningful changes before more damage is done. God bless. Galatians 6:7-8
