For me, Altura Medical Center is Dr. Ricardo Zegarra. I have been taking my children to him for the past 11 years, and I honestly can’t find enough words to describe how highly I think of him.
His professionalism, the amount of time he spends with his patients, his attention to detail, and especially his ability to diagnose and understand his patients are exceptional. Over the years, I have dealt with many pediatric doctors, not only in the United States but also in several other countries, and I can confidently say that Dr. Zegarra is the best pediatrician I have ever dealt with.
If I were rating Altura Medical Center in general, I would probably give it around 3.5 stars. But because of Dr. Zegarra and the level of care he has provided my children for more than a decade, I am giving 5 stars.
Doctors like Dr. Zegarra are very difficult to find, and I truly appreciate everything he has done for my family over the years.

I brought my children to see Dr. Sharma because they were suffering from fevers, congestion, severe headaches, a sore throat, vomiting, and green mucus. Our children have asthma, and we explicitly told her that being sick always exacerbates their condition. We explained the symptoms had lasted a week, the fever started two days ago, and vomiting began today. Dr. Sharma completely dismissed their medical history and symptoms, refusing to prescribe any medication, antibiotics, or even basic cough syrup. Instead, she told us to just give them honey and lemon. When we asked for prophylactic antibiotics given their severe signs of infection and asthma, she flatly refused everything we asked for.
Beyond the terrible medical care, her behavior was deeply discriminatory toward our LGBTQ+ family. Our children were conceived via home IUI—my wife got me pregnant, we are both on the birth certificates, and we are proud of our family. Yet, Dr. Sharma completely ignored and dismissed my wife as a parent, acting as if she wasn't even there.To make matters worse, she insisted on exposing our 4-year-old to an X-ray, ordering it "STAT." When we got to the parking lot and called the X-ray facility, they were already closed. I went back inside just two minutes after leaving to report this and ask again for antibiotics. I was told Dr. Sharma had already left the clinic. The RN who came out was incredibly unprofessional and unknowledgeable. She told us to go to the Children’s Hospital ER just for the X-ray, completely dismissing our valid concern about exposing our sick, asthmatic kids to ER germs. The RN then claimed the X-ray would tell them if my daughter had strep throat. I had to point out that X-rays do not diagnose strep—swabs do. She dismissed me, said no other doctors were there, and told us to leave. This entire clinic handled our family with utter unprofessionalism, ignorance, and medical neglect.

Dr. De La Cruz is an amazing doctor. After my child was seen at Valley Children's Hospital and we were told the bone was not broken, Dr. De La Cruz carefully reviewed everything and correctly diagnosed the fracture. I am incredibly grateful for his thoroughness and attention to detail.
He takes his time with every patient, listens carefully, and answers every question with patience and compassion. You never feel rushed during an appointment, and he makes sure you fully understand the diagnosis and treatment plan.
I have seen several pediatricians over the years, and Dr. De La Cruz is truly unique. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for his patients set him apart. I highly recommend him to any family looking for an exceptional pediatrician.

Might need exclusive invitation because I have been trying to reach out to make an appointment to get my eyes checks, the 2 times they say that they are leaving a note so they can reach out to me to make the appointment. Have heard and received zero phone calls from them.
Other than that the Pediatric side is amazing. Dr Zegarra and Dr Rivera are 5 stars.

This is the second time my child has been sick and needed to see a doctor and got an appointment a week away only to be cancelled last minute and left sick by said "doctor" Yesenia Garcia, FNP, would rather leave sick children than just set up a new appointment for the child before canceling, she does not care about you or your kids
