Let’s be real. The Perfect Workout is ideal for a certain demographic, and I’m probably in it. This isn’t a cavernous, sweaty gym with pounding music, Lycra-clad bodies, and people counting repetitions while admiring themselves in the mirror. Nor is it a $30-a-month membership. Depending on how frequently you go, it can cost more than ten times that much. So why would anyone pay it? One word: frictionless. Put on something you can move in. Drive maybe 15 minutes. Park 20 feet from the door. Walk in, have a trainer kick your ass for 20 minutes, and go home. That’s it. No gym bag, no complicated routine, no waiting for equipment, no figuring out what to do next, and generally no need for a shower afterward. You’re not there long enough to get particularly sweaty, although your muscles may have a different opinion about how much work you’ve done. The program uses a method called slow-motion strength training. In a nutshell, you move the weights very slowly in both directions, maintaining muscular tension rather than relying on momentum. The goal is to reach momentary muscular failure, typically in roughly 90 seconds. That’s where the personal trainer earns the money. Your trainer adjusts the equipment, selects and progressively increases the resistance, watches your form, and makes sure you’re actually challenging the muscles rather than just going through the motions. There’s a considerable difference between thinking you’ve worked hard and discovering that your muscles have absolutely nothing left to give. I know. I’ve experienced it. It’s a peculiar sensation! I’ve been going for several weeks now, and I’m already noticing differences. My balance feels better, stepping up curbs is easier, bending over to pick things up takes less effort, and my pants are getting looser. These aren’t dramatic before-and-after-photo transformations. They’re improvements in ordinary life, which is precisely why they matter. Is this the only effective way to build strength? Of course not. Conventional resistance training works, too. But the best exercise program isn’t necessarily the one with the most equipment, the loudest music, or the lowest monthly fee. It’s the one you’ll actually do, consistently, with enough intensity to produce results. And there’s something wonderfully efficient about having someone else handle the equipment, the resistance, the progression, and the clock. All you have to do is show up and work. Will you lose fat? Possibly. Building and preserving muscle is certainly worthwhile for body composition and metabolic health, but fat loss isn’t guaranteed by any strength program. As for body weight, I couldn’t tell you. Scales are evil, and I’m far more interested in what my body can do and how my clothes fit. The Perfect Workout isn’t inexpensive, and it isn’t for everyone. But if you value your time, dislike conventional gyms, appreciate individual attention, and want to become stronger without making fitness a second occupation, it’s worth a serious look. Twenty minutes. No circus. Real work. Then get on with your life.

Yes, it’s pricey but I consider it preventive healthcare. I’m building muscle and preventing muscle loss. Staff is friendly, enthused, engaged and motivating. Bonuses are: Progress tracking, accountability and knowledgeable guidance.

Great experience - first workout program that has ever actually achieved my goals after years of trying with Equinox and others. And with less of a time commitment - so both more effective and efficient. Ani, Alethea and Holly are all great to work out with - thanks!

Frequently Asked Questions About The Perfect Workout

This sounds too good to be true – Great results in 20 minutes, twice a week?

We understand the skepticism surrounding a 20-minute exercise routine. It goes against the grain of traditional beliefs. The truth is, if you’re doing more exercise than needed, your workout may not be intense enough. With many traditional methods, a lot of time spent during your workout is “rest time.” More rest during a workout can reduce muscle growth and cardiovascular impact. So you can either work hard during exercise, or you can work out for a long time – but you can’t do both. Intensity is key if you want to effectively boost your metabolism, improve VO2 max, and not only build lean muscle but support your skeletal health. Our approach is not only unique, it’s grounded in research. We train all major muscle groups through 5-8 exercises with minimal rest between sets. Our method and technology provide the perfect resistance for every exercise, eliminating virtually any risk of injury. So you’ll spend your sessions burning more fat and building more strength than traditional weight training. But don’t take our word for it! Come in for your own free Introductory Session. Experience the methodology first-hand, without any obligation.
