  Dr. Lee is, in my experience, is a danger to the families and children involved in custody evaluations. My experience with her evaluation was deeply disturbing and, in my view, demonstrated a serious lack of objectivity and balance. Her report contained numerous errors and inaccuracies, relied on hearsay and unverified allegations, and in my experience failed to adequately consider information and documentation that contradicted the conclusions she reached. California’s standards require custody evaluators to maintain objectivity, gather balanced information, control for bias, and include relevant information that does not support their conclusions. My experience was that those standards were not met. What made this especially troubling is that the recommendations in her report could have had an enormous impact on my relationship with my child. I believe an evaluator in this position has an extraordinary responsibility because parents and children are directly affected by the conclusions they put before the court. Ultimately, the court did not follow the recommendations in Dr. Lee’s report, and my parental rights were restored. That outcome reinforced my concerns about how the evaluation had been conducted and the conclusions that were presented. I am writing this review because I believe other parents deserve to know about my experience. I would urge anyone who has Dr. Lee appointed in a custody matter to carefully review every factual assertion in the report, preserve supporting documentation, and make sure inaccuracies or omissions are brought to the court’s attention. Based on my experience, I do not believe Dr. Lee should be conducting custody evaluations. I sincerely hope that the appropriate authorities carefully review her work and whether she should continue performing evaluations that can have such profound consequences for children and their parents.

  I was expecting a caring professional but instead found Dr. Lee to be more interested in talking about her fees, making false assumptions about us, and not listening. She showed up late for our appointment and had trouble remembering who we were and why we were there. She didn't acknowledge my daughter's presence and made both of us feel unwelcome. I would be happy to pay her $175/50 minutes if we felt it was worth it, but I wouldn't go to Dr. Lee even if she were free. We left feeling offended and disappointed all around. I would obviously not recommend this doctor. However, to be fair, we never got to the therapy part. The beginning was bad enough and I could see it wasn't going to be a good match for us.
