  My experience with kids care dental was nice, the staff was supportive and walked me through the process of getting my braces, I was having some nervousness and Dr. Andrew was accommodating by letting me start with the top then doing the bottom in 6 weeks. I felt like he listened and really cared about my experience. He explained to my mom why getting braces these days are different from when she was a kid. Overall I left feeling more confident about the process than when I came in. They showed me a video and gave me a bag with some cool tools to help me through having braces. The manager Jackie was really nice and understanding to some concerns my mom had and took the time to address them, so that felt really cool. I’ve been going to kids care dental for a long time and this visit reminded me of being a toddler doing to the dentist for the first time, and being reassured that everything would be okay.

  So my issue with Kids Care Dental on Calvin off of Timberlake is that it all it may be it’s the company in general, but the receptionist are always so quick to dismiss and reschedule an appointment instead of finding a course of action to correct whatever the issue is. So today I brought in my daughter who was scheduled for her six month checkup And they said the dental insurance was going to cover one price and that there was a $33 co-pay I had my husband talk to them before the appointment was confirmed to make sure if there was a co-pay or not. They said there was no co-pay. Upon arrival we get there on time it’s not as crowded as it usually is it’s a Friday I pick up my daughter’s early from school so she can get to the appointment and it seems like there’s always a reason or a way to turn away the customers I can’t get the kids scheduled all at the same time. I literally had one appointment today on Friday, I had have one appointment coming up for Tuesday for a cleaning and then another appointment coming up a week away which is a lot of back-and-forth for a parent so to get to the office for the scheduled appointment and when I say you can just bill me the $33 co-pay cause I did not bring money to pay a copayment and you ask is there a card on file? Did the dad leave a card on file and he did not . They then proceeded to turn me away by saying oh well we can just reschedule her. I have a problem with that. The assistant sitting next to her looked over at the chart and said well maybe you can just not do the x-rays and that’ll take off the $33. Well, why are we doing x-ray six months after she literally just had x-rays? her mouth is in perfect condition. She has not had any injury to the mouth. Anything indicating that she need an x-ray but you’re charging me and getting ready to turn me away for a 2nd x-ray ina one year period. Apparently this is what they do for a six month check up? I thought it was for her to get the sealant on the right side because she only had gotten sealants on the left side six months prior. I explained my frustration about this and the young lady in the front look like she was going to cry. We go on with the appointment she gets in the chair. She gets her teeth brushed by the dental assistant, she suggest that her teeth looks really great. She just needs to make sure she's brushing her gum line better. Then the dentist comes in and says she looks great no cavities. Keep doing what you’re doing. Do you want to get her sealants on the right side? My thoughts so it’s been six months and you have not she has not had sealants on the right side, but there are no cavities so to me it feels like this is a child who knows how to brush her teeth who has pretty good hygiene for an eight year-old and all this stuff is just up sale. I would say that it’s just Kids Care orthodontics or dental that is like this, but I know it’s really the time that we live in so I could very well uproot and go to a different dentistry, but I have a feeling that it will be the same.

  The hospital is very good for children and the staff and doctors are also very nice but the best thing about this hospital is that it has a separate play area for kids which attracts them a lot. It is a a very pleasant and enjoyable place where children can have fun and enjoy their
