- MPMary PetitApr 30, 20265.0Dr. Lam is an excellent optometrist and health care professional. I've been seeing him since I moved to Pasadena. He is thorough, pleasant and explains everything he is doing and what he is testing for. I go to him annually since I didn't have a medical reason to see an ophthalmologist, Dr. Lam diagnosed age-related dry macular degeneration in my left eye two years ago. He recommended the treatment AREDS PresserVision capsules which I checked with my primary care doctor. That's the treatment of choice to keep AMD in check as long as possible. A year later he diagnosed progression to wet AMD and referred me to an ophthalmologist. Thankfully I was able to start intraocular injection of medication and my eye disease is now stable. If you live in the Pasadena area, Dr. Lam is located in Lenscrafter in Macy's on South Lake Street. Highly recommend him for annual checks. I still get my annual checks with him for vision checks despite seeing the ophthalmologist for treatment.
