I have never been a member of StretchLab Newport Beach. My original membership was at StretchLab Irvine, which closed. That account was placed on freeze in writing by the Irvine General Manager in January 2026, and I never authorized any transfer of my membership, payment information, or personal data to Newport Beach.
In May 2026, Newport Beach charged my card $309 for a membership I never signed up for. It took a same-day dispute email (ignored), a certified-mail demand letter to Xponential Fitness corporate (ignored), and a BBB complaint before they finally refunded the charge and sent me an "Agreement Cancellation" notice on June 1, 2026.
That cancellation turned out to be theater. On August 28, 2026, three months later, their automated billing system generated a new "Past Due" charge against the account they had officially cancelled. I replied the same day. No response. I reopened the BBB complaint. As of today, BBB has notified me that Xponential once again did not respond — joining the 20+ unanswered complaints already on their profile.
This is not a customer service failure. This is a systems failure that they are choosing not to fix, because the friction of chasing them down is greater than the $25 or $309 they can extract from ghost accounts. If you are considering a membership here — or at any StretchLab — understand that "cancellation" at this company does not mean your account is closed. It means one line item is closed. Your profile stays in ClubReady, and their billing system will find something else to bill you for.
Complaints filed: FTC, BBB (twice). Chargeback in progress. Do not give this business your credit card.
