A Lasting Solution to Facial Aging Aging leads to facial volume loss, decreased collagen, and sagging skin, especially around the nasolabial folds, jawline, and neck. While treatments like Botox, fillers, and laser therapy can slow the process, they offer temporary results. For long-lasting facial rejuvenation, a facelift is the most effective solution. Restore Volume and Youthful Contours A facelift corrects sagging and volume loss, often caused by aging, weight loss, or health issues. At The Appearance Center, our expert Orange County facial plastic surgeons create personalized plans combining lifting with volume restoration, such as fat transfer or cheek implants, to achieve natural, youthful results. Benefits include: Elevated cheeks Smoothed nasolabial folds Defined jawline and reduced jowls A refreshed, youthful look Enhanced confidence. FAQs About Facelift WHAT ARE THE SURGICAL MECHANICS OF A FACELIFT? WILL A FACELIFT MAKE ME LOOK WINDBLOWN OR PULLED BACK? WILL MY FACELIFT LEAVE BAD SCARRING? HOW LONG DOES A FACELIFT TAKE? WHAT IS THE RECOVERY LIKE? CAN I GET A FACELIFT AT THE SAME TIME AS ANOTHER SURGERY?

A Permanent Solution for A More Refined Nose The nose is one of the most prominent facial features we have. It sits in the middle of our face and can, quite literally, act as an extension of ourselves, exhibiting to others a certain amount of character or detail about our inner being. For some people the appearance of the nose accurately fits their face, profile, and personality, allowing them to display the version of themselves they want the world to know. Combining Functionality For Improved Breathing A rhinoplasty procedure alone will not help improve the functionality of the nose. If you have, or are concerned you may have, a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, polyps, or any other issues causing obstructed or impaired breathing, you will want to ask about combining your rhinoplasty with corrective surgery. Our Orange County rhinoplasty specialists are double board certified in ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) surgery and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, making them expertly trained and qualified to deliver exceptional results in all forms of functional and cosmetic nose surgery. FAQs About Rhinoplasty DO YOUR SPECIALISTS PERFORM REVISION RHINOPLASTY? HOW OLD DOES A PERSON NEED TO BE BEFORE HAVING A RHINOPLASTY? WHAT IS "CLOSED REVISION" AND "OPEN REVISION"? WILL I HAVE A SPLINT? WHAT IS THE RECOVERY LIKE? WILL INSURANCE COVER MY RHINOPLASTY? DO PEOPLE COMBINE OTHER SURGERIES WITH RHINOPLASTY?

Fat Transfer Fat transfer, or fat grafting, is a surgical procedure that permanently restores fat in the face. Fat is typically harvested from the abdomen, flanks, or hips with liposuction. The fat is spun in a centrifuge, then injected carefully beneath the skin in areas where aging and atrophy have caused hollowing. Fat transfer is frequently combined with other surgical procedures such as: Fat transfer with facelift – for a youthful restoration of the skin and contours of the face Fat transfer with eyelid surgery – for a soft, natural, and replenished appearance Fat transfer with mini facelift – for a more conservative and long lasting approach to facial rejuvenation Patients who are candidates for fat transfer will have moderate to severe volume loss in the face, may be interested in additional surgical procedures, and are looking for long term results. If you are interested in facial volume enhancement but aren’t sure about undergoing surgery, we also offer non-surgical options.

Do Appearance Center Cosmetic Surgeons Address Scars On The Body? Yes. To some extent. Appearance Center facial plastic surgeons treat many patients with scars on the body. However, there are some instances when our surgeons refer body treatments to medical colleagues, more suited to assist. This is how we ensure that our patients receive the absolute best treatment possible. Skin Cancer Reconstruction The Appearance Center is under the same roof and management of a premier skin cancer center, the SCARS Center. Through this relationship, our surgeons perform complex reconstructions following the excision of skin cancer. This is usually following on-site Mohs Surgery procedures. We use a team approach to cure skin cancer and provide cosmetically conscious results in one, convenient location. Scar Correction Scar correction helps reduce or eliminate the visibility of existing scars. There are many treatment options for scar correction. While there are some nonsurgical treatment options for scar revision, such as dermabrasion, microneedling, radiofrequency devices, and steroid injection, surgical treatment for scar correction is, in some cases, the preferred method. During surgical scar correction, the surgeon will create a cut and reorientate the direction of the wound, suturing it methodically to create a more cosmetically appealing result. Cosmetic Mole Removal Appearance Center surgeons are particularly familiar with cosmetic mole removal. Because of our commitment to skin health, our physicians provide skin checks and medical treatment for malignant growths. They also provide skilled cosmetic treatment for non-cancerous moles, delivering meticulous results. If you would like to remove a noncancerous mole in a particularly sensitive or visible area, our appearance center cosmetic surgeons can help. Otoplasty – Ear Correction Cosmetic ear correction permanently addresses the shape and look of the ears. Ear correction is used for prominent ears, cauliflower ear, earlobe rejuvenation, and earring hole repair. Our Plastic Surgeons are expertly trained to carefully alter or restore the shape of the ear, in order to create a more subtle and attractive appearance. Rhinophyma Rhinophyma correction is a type of nose surgery designed to lessen the appearance of the physical characteristics of Rhinophyma. The physical characteristics of Rhinophyma can include thickened nasal skin, redness of hte nose, and large bulbous growths on the nose.

WHAT IS FRACTIONAL CO2 SKIN RESURFACING? Fractional CO2 lasers combine the benefits of both ablative and non-ablative lasers into one treatment. Fractional lasers use ablative technology to remove parts (fractions) of the damaged skin, leaving the surrounding areas intact. The handpiece emits light in a grid of precise microbeams that create narrow but deep columns of thermal injury as they penetrate the skin. Since only portions of your skin are treated at a time, the procedure is more comfortable. This also helps accelerate the healing process and reduces the risk of complications while still achieving the excellent results of an ablative laser treatment. This helps accelerate the healing process and reduces the risk of complications and discomfort. WHAT DOES THE FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER TREAT? The Fractional CO2 laser is used to address a wide range of skin conditions, including: Fine lines (including around the eyes) Deeper wrinkles around the forehead, mouth, or nose Sun damaged skin Acne scars Hyperpigmentation Dull complexion Textural issues Uneven skin tone Skin laxity Enlarged pores In addition, the Fractional CO2 laser can be used to treat other visible areas of the body, such as the neck, chest, or hands.

A Simple Solution With Dramatic Results As we age our faces begin to lose volume. Our once supple and plump cheeks, begin to dissipate, leaving behind a sharper, more serious appearing, structure, our eyebrows begin to descend, leaving us to appear angry, sad, or harsh, and our lips and mouth begin to thin and wrinkle. These changes happen slowly, starting as early, for some people, as their mid 20s, and they continue until we become new versions of ourselves that are almost unrecognizable. Many people wait quite some time before deciding to take the first step to addressing facial aging. In reality, this is something our board certified plastic surgeons strongly recommend people begin early on in the aging process. Still, it is never to late to seek out a skilled, qualified, and experienced cosmetic surgeon to help you determine the best ways to prevent and treat your personal signs of facial aging. At the Appearance Center of Newport Beach, we take a conservative and effective approach to facial aging. Our patients’ happiness is our first priority. Delivering precise, customized, and natural looking results is imperative to providing dramatic change while maintaining the patient’s sense of self, character, and personality. BOTOX, DYSPORT, XEOMIN Injectable Treatments for Wrinkle Reduction and Symmetry One of the most popular treatments for wrinkles in the face is Botox. This is because Botox is simple, effective, and reliable. Our facial plastics surgeons are intimately trained in the ways in which facial muscles respond to this treatment and highly recommend Botox for patients looking to prevent, manage, or reduce wrinkles. Patients who receive Botox treatments by our cosmetic surgeons can look forward to some of the following results: An elevated brow – for a more youthful and rested look Symmetrical brows – for patients who have a bit of asymmetry in the upper face Reduced appearance of forehead lines – for patients with horizontal lines or a furrowed brow Brighter and wider eyes – for patients with beginning to moderate signs of eyelid aging Symmetrical eyelids – for patients will a mild to moderate amount of unevenness or Ptosis in the eyelid Reduced appearance of crow’s feet – for patients with mild to severe squint lines The potential for improvement of the signs of aging with Botox is almost unfathomable. This simple treatment can restore the face to a more youthful appearance with one very quick and convenient appointment. Juvéderm, Restylane Injectable Treatments for Wrinkle Reduction and Increased Volume Injectable treatments for moderate to sever wrinkles and volume loss is one of our board certified surgeons’ favorite approaches to facial rejuvenation. It is relatively quick, painless, and offers immediate results for improvement. Dermal fillers offer the quickest and most substantial difference for facial rejuvenation in just a very short amount of time. Patients who receive filler treatments for facial rejuvenation can look forward to some of the following results: Decreased appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles in the forehead, nasolabial folds (parenthesis lines between the nose and mouth), and mouth – for an overall smoother finish and youthful appearance Significant improvement of the appearance of the jowls – for a more defined jawline Enhanced lip volume – for a perky and youthful pucker Enhanced facial volume – for a robust, youthful, and elegant shape to the face Decreased appearance of eye bags – for a softer, more youthfully refreshed eyelid

Hydrafacial Hydrafacial is a non-invasive, multi step treatment designed to cleanse, exfoliate, and infuse the skin with antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and peptides. It incorporates the techniques and benefits of microdermabrasion, chemical peel, and extraction, while gently hydrating the skin in the process. The procedure is quick, effective, and has no downtime. Conditions that are often improved with this treatment include hyperpigmentation, clogged and enlarged pores, and uneven tone and texture. CO2 Laser RESURFACING Indications: photodamaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars How it works: The Fractional CO2 Laser creates micro punctures in the skin while also delivering thermal energy to the skin. The micro punctures remove damaged tissue and stimulates tissue shrinkage while the thermal (heat) energy induces collagen production. Collagen remodeling continues to occur 3-6 months after laser resurfacing. Recovery: This will depend on how aggressive your treatment is. You will have a raw pink face for up to a month. Depending on your healing, you may be able to wear makeup after 1 week. VBEAM TREATMENTS Indications: Rosacea, redness, telangiectasia, spider veins, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, hemangiomas, acne, warts, psoriasis, red scars. How it works: The Vbeam laser is a pulsed dye laser that targets blood vessels and vascular lesions. It works by absorbing oxyhemoglobin, essentially dissolving the small red vascular lesions. Recovery: The treated area may become more red or bruised initially after treatment. Bruising may occur, which will subside in 7-10 days. You may experience burning, blistering or tingling sensations, which can be treated with topical products. Microneedling Microneedling is exactly as it sounds, micro (small) needles that puncture the superficial layer of the skin. By disrupting the architecture of the skin, collagen and elastin expression and deposition is induced, thus resulting in brighter, tighter, younger looking skin. We also use a growth factor serum that gets infused into the skin with the needle punctures that helps further aid collagen production. For the first 3-5 days your skin may be pink-red, similar to a bad sunburn. Avoid sun exposure for one week after treatment. We will provide you with specific post-treatment instructions. RF Microneedling Radiofrequency microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles and radiofrequency waves to rejuvenate facial skin. The treatment is a form of controlled skin injury. The damage stimulates the growth of healthy new skin, which can benefit common skin issues like acne scars and wrinkles. For the first 3-5 days your skin may be pink-red, similar to a bad sunburn. Avoid sun exposure for one week after treatment. We will provide you with specific post-treatment instructions. VIPeel (chemical peel) A VIPeel treats uneven skin tone, acne, melasma, hyperpigmentation, all skin tones. Your skin is cleaned and prepped in the office. Multiple applications of a trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel, with additional ingredients targeting specific skin concerns, are applied by your provider. You will go home with additional TCA peel wipes to apply at home and ensure optimal results Recovery: For the first 3-5 days your skin may be pink-red, similar to a bad sunburn. You may experience light peeling for several days as your skin regenerates. Avoid sun exposure for one week after treatment. Do not apply makeup for approximately one week. We will provide you with specific post-treatment instructions. Physician Administered Chemical Peel Physician administered peels will be stronger and more effective than chemical peels purchased in a store or administered by an esthetician. These peels are medically administered to create a controlled chemical burn on the skin. Similar to when a reptile peels, as the old, damaged skin peels from our face and neck, new, glowing, and beautiful skin is revealed. Physician administered chemical peels help with the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, the appearance of brown spots and sun damage, and help with skin tightening to a limited degree. Microdermabrasion Microdermabrasion generally works best for skin requiring focused treatments, such as seen in facial scarring from chickenpox, acne, or skin cancer. During microdermabrasion, a hand-held electronic tool, affixed with a diamond or wire brush tip, removes damaged or scarred layers of skin to allow for the growth of new skin. The outcome of dermabrasion is dramatic as well as long-lasting.
