Fat Transfer Fat transfer, or fat grafting, is a surgical procedure that permanently restores fat in the face. Fat is typically harvested from the abdomen, flanks, or hips with liposuction. WHAT IS FRACTIONAL CO2 SKIN RESURFACING? Fractional CO2 lasers combine the benefits of both ablative and non-ablative lasers into one treatment. Fractional lasers use ablative technology to remove parts (fractions) of the damaged skin, leaving the surrounding areas intact. The handpiece emits light in a grid of precise microbeams that create narrow but deep columns of thermal injury as they penetrate the skin. CO2 Laser RESURFACING Indications: photodamaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars How it works: The Fractional CO2 Laser creates micro punctures in the skin while also delivering thermal energy to the skin. Multiple applications of a trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel, with additional ingredients targeting specific skin concerns, are applied by your provider. You will go home with additional TCA peel wipes to apply at home and ensure optimal results Recovery: For the first 3-5 days your skin may be pink-red, similar to a bad sunburn. You may experience light peeling for several days as your skin regenerates. Avoid sun exposure for one week after treatment. Do not apply makeup for approximately one week. Physician Administered Chemical Peel Physician administered peels will be stronger and more effective than chemical peels purchased in a store or administered by an esthetician. These peels are medically administered to create a controlled chemical burn on the skin. Microdermabrasion Microdermabrasion generally works best for skin requiring focused treatments, such as seen in facial scarring from chickenpox, acne, or skin cancer.
