- AMArbella MaisomOct 24, 20241.0I was assigned Addus Homecare through the VA to care for my dad. I have been with them for over a year and a half. The office has poor communication, and they refused to care for my dad with dementia and canceled service abruptly without notice. I have 4 young children while also trying to care for my father full time and they canceled on me and left me stranded. Several of their employees have told me that my dad was their easiest client, then turned around and made up lies just to get out of working there and threw my dad under the bus in the process. I was not a difficult person. I have been very patient, flexible and open whenever there have been changes in my father's care--maybe too nice--then I got backstabbed. Addus just makes their employees take a basic quiz, then throws them out in the field with no real training. I will be taking my business elsewhere where their staff is actually trained and they truly care about their patients. So disappointed and truly hurt by this company.
