- NNNadia N6 days ago1.0I would give zero stars if I could, for two reasons: misdiagnosis and sanitation. 1. My forehead condition was treated for months without a biopsy.I had been struggling with an ashy bruise-like dark spot on my forehead for almost a year. I saw Dr. Laub twice, and he prescribed Retin-A and hydroquinone without doing a biopsy. I specifically told him that the area was becoming irritated and that the problem kept returning. He assured me it’s not related to hydroquinone. I eventually saw a dermatologist at UCSF, who performed a biopsy. The pathology showed post-inflammatory pigmentary alteration which could’ve been caused by the prescription I was using. The UCSF doc replaced his meds with an anti-inflammatory cream and I’m relieved to see results in just two days. 2. Dr. Laub recommended removing a mole for biopsy. I noticed that the electrocautery device had dried blood on it and complained! I actually told him I didn’t want him to do the biopsy. The doctor closed the door, blamed his staff, assured me and used a new blade to perform the procedure by hand instead. I found this extremely disturbing and honestly can’t get over it! I would expect much higher standards of cleanliness and infection control in a medical office.
