Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I pick up meds there for work, and they're super nice, and knowledgeable about prescriptions.

Just to preface this entire thing, I have filled my medication at this location while living in Glendale months prior to this interaction. I was met with a ditzy pharmacy technician earlier today, with whom I triple checked with to make sure they had my medication. She said it was no issue and to tell my doctor to send the prescription over, which I did. I called back a few hours later and spoke to a male pharmacist, who claimed that they actually have the medication but refuse to fill it due to DEA “laws” that were recently put into action because of problems with opiates-his words, not mine. He said because I was not a UCLA student I could not fill my prescription, but that they had it. I called back moments later, and spoke to the female pharmacist, Rosa! Rosa proceeded to tell me that they in fact do not have the medication, and when I asked what law prevented them from doing so she said there actually was no law, and that it was store policy. She also told me no one who worked there had told me they had the medication, basically stating that I was lying lmao. Not sure what their problem is but it is usually fine here, definitely gonna make this an issue for them tho! Thanks for being so wonderful, Rosa! :) -edit: I recorded said phone call by the way! Rosa told me they have “limited supply” and then proceeded to tell me they don’t have any at all. I don’t know why your incompetence and rudeness is my issue, but it is yours now since I am escalating this situation and now have an open case and will be speaking with the store manager. Absolutely ridiculous. There is no reason to lie to patients.

I'm shocked at the negative reviews of the pharmacy! In my experiences over the years, the staff has been nothing but EXTREMELY helpful, courteous and professional - and I've obviously dealt with many pharmacists as well as technicians - honestly I don't have a single bad thing to say or can remember a "bad" interaction (in fact, on several occasions Howard has gone above and beyond in my opinion and left me with the sense of a 'mom and pop' establishment rather than a national chain) so ya, I have nothing but good things to say
