Our family has been with these dentists for almost 10 years now. We have no complaints.
The office staff are always nice. I've been through several dentists. I became friends with Dr. Janjik Talin, simply because I see her so often with my three kids, and she is so sweet to them. She always asks them how they are doing in school and with life. She has even shared her parenting experiences with me.
My eldest had a horrible dental accident, my son was in shock, and we need emergency help. They took us in within an hour. This is when a relationship with a dentist like Dr. Janjik is golden. My son felt safe with her. She was honest with our situation. She provided hope. Then, she sent us forward with Dr. Andy Kang, who helped with the emergency. I had never met him before. We couldn't have felt more safe and secure. After the accident, we had to visit often with Dr. Kang. He went above and beyond for my son. He was so kind, understanding, and helpful. We were very grateful to have such great compassion and help with such a stressful situation.
My two other children have had braces, head gear, retainers, and expanders done here with Dr Matthew Moadel. Because we followed his directions, my kids' teeth look great.
I have to say that these dentists' jobs are very difficult. Many adults have fear of dental work. Imagine how it is for children and their parents watching over them. I have seen that it can get very frustrating for the dentists. Kids don't wear their retainers, parents let things slide with their kids' brushing and candy, etc. These dentists care A LOT. I can understand how they must get frustrated when they see that kids' dental health is not progressing in a good way. There might be reviews complaining about experiences, but I have to say that this office is the best I've ever seen. These dentists are on point, they get the job done, and they do it with a smile for the children.

Our experience with Dr. Ryan was amazing. He is definitely kid friendly, very gentle with autistic children and was communicative all the way either through him or with his staff. It was a great experience.

If I could give this office 100000 stars I would!! I have been taking my children here for several years now. Each time we come it’s like visiting family. The entire office is so inviting, kind, patient, and just overall incredible with kids. After moving away from the area we tried a different dentist closer to home however no other place could compare, so much so we decided to drive 1.5hrs to make sure our children are seen only at this dentist and my daughter has braces so that’s a monthly trip to the orthodentist. But it is so worth it. My son recently had some extensive dental work done, needing 4 crowns and a few fillings. He is 3 and in order to do so he needed to be placed under anesthesia. As scary as this process could have been, I could not be more pleased with our experience. The doctors and anesthesiologists kept us informed throughout the entire process. Checking in with us what felt like every half hour or less giving us updates on the procedure and how he was doing. They made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Also when it comes to checking insurance and coverage, the girls in the front are incredible. I want thank each and everyone there for meeting us with smiles and warmth. Making a dentist appt an enjoyable experience for the whole family.

We’ve been coming to this clinic for almost two years, and it has become our favorite place. My child is always excited to come and actually looks forward to appointments just to get the little gifts afterward. There is absolutely no fear or anxiety about visiting. Every doctor we’ve seen has been incredibly kind, patient, and friendly, so this is definitely a five-star experience.
I’d also like to highlight not only the quality of care but also how thoughtfully the clinic is designed for children. The waiting area is wonderful, with a beautiful aquarium that’s fun to watch, as well as tablets that help keep kids entertained.
The newest addition we saw yesterday was the robot, which absolutely amazed both my child and me. My son has been talking about it ever since and even brought it up again the next day. Thank you so much for creating such a welcoming and child-friendly environment and for making every visit such a positive experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Frequently Asked Questions About Children's Dental FunZone - Eagle Rock
When should my child first visit the dentist?
We usually recommend scheduling your child's first pediatric dental visit as soon as their baby teeth begin to appear. This allows us to prevent any cavities from forming and talk with you about how to care for your child's teeth.
How often should my child visit the dentist?
We recommend that most children visit the dentist every six months. We may recommend coming in every three months if we discover your child is more prone to cavities.
When and how should I start cleaning my child's teeth?
You should start brushing your child's teeth as soon as they start to appear. Use a toothbrush and toothpaste your child likes and turn toothbrushing into a fun game! You can both take turns role-playing as a dentist, brushing the front, back, sides, and top of the teeth in a circular motion.
Why are baby teeth important?
The baby teeth serve as spacers for the adult teeth. Children who have severe damage to their baby teeth are more likely to damage their permanent teeth as well. Early loss of baby teeth may cause loss of space for permanent teeth, causing orthodontic problems later on.
What kind of toothbrush should kids use?
At Children's Dental FunZone, we recommend you get a soft-bristle brush with a small head for cleaning your infant's teeth. As your child grows, switch to a toothbrush with a slightly larger head.
When should children start flossing?
If there is little or no space between your child's teeth, this is usually a sign that you should be helping them floss. Flossing is less necessary if there is a lot of space between a child's teeth.
Are X-rays safe for children?
Yes! Today's X-ray technology uses only 25% of the radiation when compared to earlier generations. Therefore, dental X-rays are considered incredibly safe for your child. If you ever have any questions about your child's safety during their checkup, don't hesitate to ask.
What is the difference between a pediatric dentist and a family dentist?
Family dentists can provide excellent general care for patients of all ages, but our pediatric dentists specialize in assessing the needs of infants and children. We monitor kids to ensure healthy oral formation while also keeping them comfortable, safe, and at ease during their visit.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost?
The cost of orthodontic care can vary greatly, depending on the patient's needs. We can provide a personalized estimate during your child's appointment. Additionally, we can talk to you about financing and insurance assistance as needed.
Does insurance cover orthodontic treatment?
Some insurance policies will cover orthodontic care, at least partly, and some will not. It depends on your specific insurance, but we are always happy to talk with you about the best ways to maximize your reimbursement.
