Our Services

Same-day Crowns

Torrey Pines Dental Arts knows that your time is valuable. If you need a dental crown, onlay, or bridge restoration, we can help. Our office is equipped with the latest dental technology, and our dentists can build a custom crown in just a day. This reduces the multi-week process of getting a crown to just a few hours. We help you recover faster, enjoy a better smile, and take care of your oral health, in just one appointment.

Sedation Dentistry

We’re committed to careful, gentle dental treatment. In keeping with our mission, we offer pain-free sedation dentistry to assist patients with dental anxiety. We offer sedation for several procedures, from endodontic therapy and tooth extractions to dental implants and more. Our goal is to make your time in the dentist’s chair less scary.

Endodontic Treatment

Unlike other dental practices, our office staffs two endodontists. Our endodontists perform root canal therapy and other treatments that address decayed or infected teeth. We do our best to prevent teeth from extraction.

Periodontal Care

Gum disease is a common problem for most patients. When your gums are swollen, red, or bleeding, you may have periodontal disease. Our periodontist works with you to keep your gums safe from bacterial infection. We work with you to handle periodontal treatments that reduce bacterial buildup, reshape your gums, and reduce any further deterioration of your gum line.

Dental Exams

Your oral exams are the first line of defense against dental problems. A dental exam allows dentists to catch problems like periodontal disease, oral cancer, tooth decay, and more. We recommend getting a dental exam done every six months.

Dental Cleanings

Regular dental cleanings are essential for good oral health. Patients should schedule a dental cleaning twice a year. Our hygienists remove tartar buildup, plaque, and bacteria to prevent gum disease and other common problems. We strive to help clients enjoy healthy, bright smiles for the rest of their life!

Orthodontics

Proper orthodontic treatments create beautiful smiles. Our orthodontist can guide your teeth to ensure proper jaw formation and bite. Without well-aligned teeth, you’ll struggle with speaking, chewing, and oral care, which can result in problems that require expensive dental procedures to repair. We help you avoid these problems by using clear aligners to move your teeth into the proper formation. If you’re interested in learning about our Invisalign® or SureSmile® clear aligners, reach out today!

Children’s Dentistry

Your child’s oral health matters! Torrey Pines Dental Arts is committed to helping children stay healthy and happy with essential dental care. We protect their dental health with a full suite of dental services, including sealants and fluoride treatments.

Teeth Whitening

Improve your smile with our quick, effective teeth whitening procedure. We give you a smile makeover by using Zoom!® teeth whitening, available in both at-home and in-office options. Zoom!® teeth whitening can lift years of coffee stains off your teeth and lighten your smile by up to ten shades.

Porcelain Veneers

Dental veneers can transform chipped, poorly aligned, or misshapen teeth with stunning results. These veneers are thin, porcelain shells that sit on top of your tooth, concealing your imperfections and creating a natural, beautiful look. Our cosmetic dentists make sure to personalize each veneer so that they blend in perfectly with the surrounding teeth. Reach out to our team to enjoy the smile you’ve always wanted.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding, like veneers, reshapes your tooth to conceal chips, cracks, and discolorations. This procedure is an affordable, quick, and effective treatment that can be done in just one office visit. We use ceramic bonding materials matched to your tooth color to create a natural, attractive look.

Tooth-colored/Composite Fillings

Traditionally, dentists used amalgam fillings that contained metals and mercury. However, we use tooth-colored fillings made from composite resins that do not harm your oral health. These long-lasting fillings create natural-looking, stunning results that look just like your other teeth.

Cosmetic Gum Contouring

If you’re worried about how an asymmetrical gum line can affect your smile, we can meet with you to discuss cosmetic gum contouring. This procedure treats “gummy” smiles by eliminating extra gum tissue, therefore evening out your gum line and exposing more of your tooth. If you’re ready for a smile makeover, reach out to our cosmetic dentists.

Orthodontics

Misaligned teeth never look good. Torrey Pines Dental Arts offers solutions that can straighten your teeth without the use of painful metal braces. We use clear aligners like Invisalign® and SureSmile®, which sit on top of your teeth and gently move them to the proper place over time. These clear aligners allow you to show off your smile without wires or metal in the way.

Porcelain Dental Crowns

Crowns restore your broken or damaged tooth to its usual look and function. Our dentists often install crowns to hold together a broken tooth, cover an implant, support a tooth after a root canal, or anchor a dental bridge. We craft beautiful, personalized porcelain dental crowns that are custom-designed to fit in among your surrounding teeth. We put your oral health first!

Porcelain Dental Bridges

Is there a gap in your smile? Dental bridges are used to anchor an artificial tooth in the gap between two teeth. Torrey Pines Dental Arts offers porcelain dental bridges that fill the gaps in your smile. A bridge is a more affordable, non-invasive solution to dental implants, and they are one of the most common solutions for missing teeth. We can build long-lasting, natural-looking bridges that fit your smile perfectly.

Inlays and Onlays

If your teeth have significant decay but still have a healthy internal structure, we can save them with inlays or onlays. These dental restorations are an alternative to fillings. Unlike fillings, which involve adding composite resin to a tooth and then curing it, inlays/onlays are made from ceramic materials and then installed over your decayed teeth. This solution helps cover the top of the tooth, improve its shape, and keep your tooth strong and healthy. Thanks to our cutting-edge technology, we can make inlays/onlays in just one visit!

Full and Partial Dentures

Dentures are an inexpensive, common solution for patients who are missing multiple teeth. Modern dentures are crafted from long-lasting, durable materials that look similar to your regular teeth. Our dentists can craft your dentures to fit your unique smile and facial features! We can also secure your dentures to the jawbone with dental implants to stop your dentures from slipping.

Dental Implants

We recommend dental implants for clients who have lost teeth due to extractions, accidents, disease, or other causes. Dental implants mimic the root of a missing tooth. We create an artificial tooth and install it directly in your jawbone, which supports jawbone strength and prevents your other teeth from drifting into the gap. Our dental surgeons are happy to meet with you to discuss your dental implant needs and answer any questions.

Full-mouth Dental Reconstruction

Many patients come to us because they have severe dental problems, ranging from missing teeth to oral pain. As trusted experts with a reputation for excellent dental reconstruction, our team has worked on restoring smiles with surgical and cosmetic treatments. Our full-mouth reconstruction services rebuild your smile and help you regain complete jaw function. We love to work with patients in this life-changing procedure and help you feel confident in your smile again!

Oral Surgery

Our maxillofacial and oral surgeons work with patients who need assistance with misaligned jaws, problem wisdom teeth, and facial pain. We also treat patients who need dental implants, oral cancer treatments, and facial cosmetic surgery, among other needs.

I'm really baffled by the number of 5 star reviews. I, myself, had a horrendous experience on my first visit here for a cleaning and x-rays. After a 2 1/2 hour appointment, I left exhausted and traumatized with a laceration in the roof of my mouth, bruised gums, damaged mucus membranes in the corners of my mouth, an emerging fever blister, and a migraine. The hygienist was 15 minutes behind schedule and the cleaning seemed rushed. I was moved to another room where the dental assistant struggled to take the x-rays and then took 45 minutes to do the scan. She seemed very inexperienced and continued to struggle with the scan, repeatedly jamming the probe into my gums. Then she started using a mirror as a retractor, jamming it down between my lips and gums causing excruciating pain. I asked her to stop 4 different times and told her I did not want to continue the scan. The first time, I was told that the scan was required in order to be a patient of the clinic. The next 3 times, she just ignored my pleas and continued. After knowing what had happened and seeing how upset I was, I found the dentist, the hygienist, and the patient rep to be severely lacking in empathy, concern for the pain inflicted on me, and for my time that had been wasted. The dentist tried to excuse it by saying that the dental assistant wasn't an employee of the clinic. Which left me wondering why there was no supervision of her, why no one was concerned that I had been in that room alone with her for an hour and why they were using temps. I didn't feel like I had an adequate cleaning or dental consult. Once I was at the front desk, the hygienist came up and asked me if anyone had "offered" me fluoride (no one had "offered"). I don't have dental insurance (as I noted on the forms I had filled out) and was expected to pay the $350 that I was quoted when I made the appointment. After I paid and went home, I started receiving texts and an email asking for insurance information, but not the email receipt I was promised. I had to call the next day to get the receipt. It took another 2 requests to get my x-rays and notes sent by email. I still don't know the name of the dental assistant despite 3 requests.

I had a wonderful experience with my dental hygienist, Patricia and Dr. Hurley. My hygienist was knowledgeable, gentle, and genuinely caring. She took the time to explain everything and gave me helpful advice about caring for my teeth and gums. Dr. Harvey was also genuinely involved and attentive throughout my visit, which made me feel valued and well cared for. I truly appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and excellent care I received from both of them!

It was easily the most gentle, easy and clear cut experience I’ve ever had at the dentist. Every single interaction with every person from the front desk to the dental chair was helpful and positive, I can no longer imagine getting dental work done anywhere else.
