I took an intro class here, liked it enough to buy a two-week pass, and told a friend to come try it with me. Friday was supposed to be my first class as a paying member. It was also my last. I arrived ten minutes late after an hour in the car following summer camp dropoff with unexpected traffic. I was told at the desk I couldn’t go in. The owner then stood up and walked me through her reasoning: 1. Safety. I’d missed the warm-up, so it wasn’t safe for me to join. Worth noting: during my intro class, her own receptionist walked in roughly ten minutes after the start and joined. Apparently the safety concern is selective. It also assumes I don’t know my own body well enough to warm up on my own and ease in. 2. Optics. In her words, if she let me in, what would everyone else think? They’d think it was okay to be late. So the deciding factor wasn’t my safety or my membership — it was how it would look to the other paying clients in the room. I’d argue what they’d actually think is that the owner is a reasonable and empathetic human being. 3. The policy was in an email I didn’t read closely. True. I didn’t know about the five-minute grace period. Had I known, I wouldn’t have driven the last thirty minutes. What would have taken five seconds: “Go ahead in, warm up slowly on your own. Just so you know for next time, we have a five-minute grace period and after that we can’t let people in.” Empathetic, and the rule still stands. I then asked for a refund on the two-week pass. Denied. I was told she provides a service and I pay for it. I have not attended a single class on that pass. If you want a studio that applies its rules with any judgment or values keeping a new member over making a point, this isn’t it.

From the moment you walk in the front desk team greets you with genuine smiles and makes you feel instantly at home; they’re helpful, upbeat, and ready to answer questions and cheer you on whether you’re there for your first class or 100th! Every instructor treats each class with care, offering modifications so you feel supported no matter your experience or how your body is feeling that day. Whitney brings incredible energy to her studio and her classes. She’s encouraging and motivates you in the best way. Her workouts are tough but so rewarding, and she somehow makes every client feel seen and capable. The studio itself is light, incredibly clean, and calming, and there’s something special about finishing an evening class and stepping outside to watch the sun set over the ocean…pure bliss. Like all barre3 studios, the philosophy of meeting you where you are is woven into every class; you’re encouraged to listen to your body and make the choices that feel right. I left every class feeling stronger, happier, and grateful to be welcomed to this lovely community.
