  I love Kids Care Dental! They are always so kind and gentle with my son when he comes in for appointments. Which is super important to me as my son is only two years old, and his first memories and impressions of the dentist are the most important! The receptionists as well as the dentists themselves are great at their jobs. Not only does my son leave with a big, clean smile but he always gets a goodie (I.e. free toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, toy, etc.) Would recommend to everyone!

  We have been long-time patients at Kids Care Dental in Folsom, and our children have always loved Dr. Shaw. We have had a great experience with her as our dentist, which makes this situation especially disappointing. We recently received a bill for a cleaning that was dated back to December 2022. Because we had dental insurance coverage at the time, I immediately contacted the office and our insurance company to find out why we were receiving a bill so many years later. After speaking with our insurance company, I learned that Kids Care Dental had never submitted the claim to insurance. Because so much time had passed, the insurance company would no longer process the claim. I made multiple attempts to resolve this issue, both over the phone and in person. Unfortunately, I could never get a clear answer or a resolution. I ultimately refused to pay the bill because this was not an error on our part. We had insurance coverage, and the claim was never submitted by the dental office. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve the situation, Kids Care Dental eventually sent the bill to collections. That was extremely frustrating and, in my opinion, completely unfair. We did everything we were supposed to do as patients and had insurance coverage at the time of service. I don’t feel we should be responsible for a bill that resulted from the office failing to submit the claim in a timely manner. The customer service throughout this process was also extremely disappointing. When you call, you are directed to a call center, and the representatives often don’t seem to have the information or ability to actually resolve the issue. I made multiple attempts to get help and repeatedly felt like I was getting nowhere. It is unfortunate because we truly loved Dr. Shaw and had a positive experience with her as our children’s dentist. However, the way this billing issue was handled, the lack of communication, and ultimately sending the bill to collections when the issue was not caused by us led us to leave the practice. I hope the office takes situations like this more seriously in the future, especially when insurance claims are involved. Patients should not be held responsible for an office’s failure to submit a claim on time.

  The place itself is fine. I don’t love how it feels like a factory with the kids all lined up and no privacy. What I hate is trying to make an appointment and speaking to someone overseas. They put you on hold multiple times during the call to confirm appointments or make changes. And many times it’s hard to understand.

  First visit and they were very attentive with my son, they handled my son very well & they were very welcoming ! Would highly recommend.

  Skill level of dentists/orthodontists- great. Appt Timing, communication, and respect for patients time- poor. Waited 20 mins to get 5 mins of assistant work done, then another 20+ mins to see dentist for less than 5 minutes. (Saw dentist 40+ minutes after our appt time). Frustrating and will leave the office after ortho work completed. This is how many of our visits go…
