Dr. Shih was fantastic. He addressed all of my concerns. He took the time to make sure my new prescription was just right. He gave me the name of a prescription to give to my ophthalmologist that he suggests to help with high pressure in my eyes. He is kind, patient, and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that they did not give me my pupillary distance. But, I don’t think that was his policy, I believe that is Target Optical’s policy. Their front desk attendant was cold and rude and the staff there were not professional. They were having personal conversations and lounging around. Dr. Shih is great and the behavior of Target Optical’s staff is not a representation of him or his professionalism.

Fantastic and easy experience. I get the annual reminder/appointment scheduled and it makes it super easy to where I fill out the forms online and show up with just one signature left. Been coming here for several years.

Went here l about a year ago to get an update on my prescription.
I was maybe in there for 5 minutes, if that.
It felt like he was not listening to me, and just wrote me off. Said there was nothing wrong, and that I didn't need a stronger prescription. Refered me to a specialist though (that i didn't need)
A couple months later, I went to LensCrafters in the mall, and lo and behold, i needed a stronger prescription.
Don't go here, it's a waste of your time.

My eye exam was quick and to the point. Dr. Jay Shih is very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I’ve been told by optometrists in the past that wearing contact lenses was not an option for me because of the shape of my eyes with no further explanation. Dr. Jay Shih explained to me that that wasn’t true and truly seemed dedicated to addressing both my quality of life needs concerning vision as well as my eye functional needs. The only thing is that he seems to be popular, so schedule slots fill up quickly and there was a bit of a wait time for me, so bear that in mind if that’s something that bothers you. Again, he seems to be efficient at making sure patients are in and out while still providing quality care. I highly recommend!

I was very unhappy with my visit. First off, they called me asking if I can go in earlier than I had scheduled because the Dr had to leave. When I got there, the doctor ran his tests and when I’d give him my answer on what was clear and what was not , he would ask me .. “really?” Like he wanted me to change my answer. After he was done, he gave me contacts to put on. After a few minute, I told him I wasn’t seeing clearly on one eye. He checked me again but he told me that he couldn’t do anything else because “I didn’t come prepared with my old prescription and I couldn’t remember what brand contacts I use”. He told me he would like to see my old prescription and take it from there. Very unprofessional trying to put it on the patient. If he had done his job correctly, there is no need for him to go off my old prescription.
