Been visiting this clinic for a couple of years now. Huge thanks to Dr. Ana and Stephanie’s hard works restoring my daughter’s baby teeth back in good shape, and the staff is always patient and friendly making sure us comfortable going through the procedures. The office is clean with some kids’ activities which helps to ease the process. Thank you so much 🥹

This place has treated my children and I with respect and so much care. Explains everything they are doing, reassuring my kid that he will be fine. And also praising along the way, so he knows he is doing a great job. Dr. Cortez is AMAZING!!! She has a way with children, and she makes it fun.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with this dental office for my 3-year-old’s sedated treatment. As a parent, I was naturally nervous about the process, but the entire team made me feel completely comfortable and confident from start to finish.
They took the time to thoroughly explain every step, answer all of my questions, and reassure me throughout the entire process. Their professionalism, patience, and genuine care truly stood out. You can tell they have a lot of experience working with young children and understand how to support both the child and the parent.
The procedure itself went smoothly, and I was so impressed with how attentive and gentle they were. After the treatment, they provided clear aftercare instructions and continued to check in, which I really appreciated.
Most importantly, my child is doing great and is back to smiling and feeling like himself again. I’m so grateful we were in such capable and caring hands.
I highly recommend this office to any parent, especially if your child needs more involved treatment like sedation.

I've been taking my son here since he started getting teeth and needed dental check ups. Today was honestly one of the most frustrating experiences with their office. I have had my dental insurance change 2x while with them with no issue. I currently had to change his insurance over to my wife's insurance this year. No matter how many times I explained we had PPO insurance, there seemed to be an issue and the nurse made sure to yell it out for everyone to hear which was obnoxious and rude. When the doctor informed me my sons tooth needed to be extracted, the nurse yelled "HMO! HMO! HMO!" I turned in confusion. Again the doctor continued to talk to me and as I asked questions as to what it would entail and cost the nurse again yells "HMO, HMO, HMO!" I turned and askrd what is the issue? I called my wife to figure why they are saying we have an HMO. When the insurance card clearly states PPO. I didn't even get to finish the exam with my son because all this insurance crap. Mind you they call you days in advance to find out about your insurance and make sure it's still up to date. What for its still going to be an issue when you get there.
Apparently because his primary insurance is HMO is the issue. So I can't have primary care insurance and dental PPO insurance because it's conflict. 🙄
I have always liked this place up until the way they handled this situation today. I've never been so annoyed and embarrassed. Do better.
Frequently Asked Questions About Children's Dental FunZone - Alhambra
When should my child first visit the dentist?
We usually recommend scheduling your child's first pediatric dental visit as soon as their baby teeth begin to appear. This allows us to prevent any cavities from forming and talk with you about how to care for your child's teeth.
How often should my child visit the dentist?
We recommend that most children visit the dentist every six months. We may recommend coming in every three months if we discover your child is more prone to cavities.
When and how should I start cleaning my child's teeth?
You should start brushing your child's teeth as soon as they start to appear. Use a toothbrush and toothpaste your child likes and turn toothbrushing into a fun game! You can both take turns role-playing as a dentist, brushing the front, back, sides, and top of the teeth in a circular motion.
Why are baby teeth important?
The baby teeth serve as spacers for the adult teeth. Children who have severe damage to their baby teeth are more likely to damage their permanent teeth as well. Early loss of baby teeth may cause loss of space for permanent teeth, causing orthodontic problems later on.
What kind of toothbrush should kids use?
At Children's Dental FunZone, we recommend you get a soft-bristle brush with a small head for cleaning your infant's teeth. As your child grows, switch to a toothbrush with a slightly larger head.
When should children start flossing?
If there is little or no space between your child's teeth, this is usually a sign that you should be helping them floss. Flossing is less necessary if there is a lot of space between a child's teeth.
Are X-rays safe for children?
Yes! Today's X-ray technology uses only 25% of the radiation when compared to earlier generations. Therefore, dental X-rays are considered incredibly safe for your child. If you ever have any questions about your child's safety during their checkup, don't hesitate to ask.
What is the difference between a pediatric dentist and a family dentist?
Family dentists can provide excellent general care for patients of all ages, but our pediatric dentists specialize in assessing the needs of infants and children. We monitor kids to ensure healthy oral formation while also keeping them comfortable, safe, and at ease during their visit.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost?
The cost of orthodontic care can vary greatly, depending on the patient's needs. We can provide a personalized estimate during your child's appointment. Additionally, we can talk to you about financing and insurance assistance as needed.
Does insurance cover orthodontic treatment?
Some insurance policies will cover orthodontic care, at least partly, and some will not. It depends on your specific insurance, but we are always happy to talk with you about the best ways to maximize your reimbursement.
