- ASAmy Stoddard5 days ago1.0Went in for a quote on lenses using my VSP insurance. They quoted me $390 even with my insurance! Mind you this included bells and whistles such as sunglass transition, but the local optometry store is charging me $180 for the exact same thing. I thought since it's a big chain vs a small boutique business LensCrafters might be a better deal, so I was shocked that it was twice as much.

The person who helped me didn’t leave me with the most confidence because the pricing was all over the place while they helped me, and the prices seemed quite high. They also have my first name spelled incorrectly in their system and emailed my receipt over to a random email due to their typo. I expect a little more sensitivity handling information from a medical office but ultimately everything worked out.

I went in on a Sunday afternoon, it was not very busy so I was able to schedule an exam for the following day and spend time trying on frames. They have a good selection of both budget-friendly and high end frames and even offered to look into different colors if I didn't find it in-store. The next day I arrived for my appointment and despite being much busier, I was checked in and seen right away. The pre-screening and exam were very thorough and the doctor clearly explained my options based on my prescription and eye care needs. Everyone was very helpful, professional and courteous. It took a bit of time and patience (thank you Patricia!) But I was able to get my glasses ordered as well as trial new contacts. Overall great experience and highly recommend!
