Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

This pharmacy is the only one I will ever go to. My rx is always ready on time and I’m notified promptly. The staff are very friendly and courteous, especially Nancy! She is always very helpful helping me get the best pricing whether it be through my insurance or priced with a rx discount program.

Would not recommend if you are on any type of controlled medication. The female pharmacist Tina is very rude and will yell at customers. She will tell you that you don't need a prescription your doctor has prescribed. She will go as far as not filling your medicine on the day it's due because she feels no one needs pain medicine. Please if you or a loved one has cancer or other chronic illness that causes debilitating pain go some where else. If she does fill it she will make sure she takes 9 or 10 hours to fill it to where it is closing time and you cannot pick it up. They also like to close early and if you show up less than 15 minutes before they close you will get yelled at that they are closing

True story, my experience. I am prescribed medication that requires an injection. My regular pharmacy closes at 5pm. I, prescription in hand, went to Frys Pharmacy kolb to purchase syringes. Upon mention, the 2 pharmacy workers would NOT even approach me or come within 10ft. I do not mean 3 feet and just am exaggerating. I felt really uncomfortable, having to say, "Um, I'm not contagious or anything, " for them to realize how they were behaving. They "didn't sell them," at first and require prescription. After showing them, they were, "out of syringes," I asked if she means all of them, she said yes. They were out of all, syringes. Walgreens across the street, I had a great experience, was listened to and they helped me with the appropriate size for my medication. Thank you Walgreens Good? Bad? I don't know, this is just what took place.

I have not used Fry's Pharmacy - however, this review concerns Fry's Food Store at this location. I waited with anticipation as they remodeled the store in hopes that there would be a store to serve my neighborhood that was equal to the one located at 22nd and Kolb Rd. Although it was upgraded the one factor that did not change was the lousy and rude customer service that you will receive at the checkout counter. They are lazy, rude and not at all trained in providing customer service. On the past two visits I was forced to reach over the counter, try and get my items and place them in bags after I paid the bill. When I asked if the clerk could please slide my purchased items down to the end of the counter so that I could package them myself - she ignored me and continues talking to another cashier about what their plans were after work. On one occasion when I asked the bakery for a particular bread I was told by a bakery employee that this particular location would never have that bread because this store is at the bottom of the feeding chain. That says a great deal about how this particular store feels about the neighborhood and the customers. I will continue going to the Kolb and 22nd Street location where I can get excellent customer service and the items I enjoy. I will also go to the Walmart that is next door to my apartment where they provide great customer service every time I enter.
