Summit Healthcare Cancer Center provides state-of-the-art treatment for patients with cancer, incorporating the latest treatment options to deliver individualized care to patients.Here at Summit, we treat the following cancer types:

Summit Healthcare’s Cardiopulmonary Department diagnoses and treats health problems associated with the heart and lungs. Care is delivered to patients with asthma, COPD, respiratory failure, pneumonia, RSV, CHF, MI, and other diseases that can affect the cardiac and pulmonary system. We have a 4 bed sleep lab for diagnosis and treatment of sleep related breathing disorders. Our Neurodiagnostic department provides Electroencephalogram(EEG) and Nerve conduction studies.

Help people who have a history of or are at risk for heart disease (cardiovascular disease) or are living with lung disease (pulmonary disease). People with heart disease can improve their health and reduce their risk of future cardiovascular disease, medical complications, and future hospitalizations. People with lung disease can learn to manage their disease well and reduce the risk of hospitalization. The programs offered are designed to support a patient’s physical, emotional and social needs and include support for their families. Summit Healthcare CardioPulmonary Rehabilitation programs serve Northeastern Arizona and use the guidelines of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. These programs include a specialized plan of care developed by our team of experienced, advanced life support certified, registered nurses and licensed respiratory therapists.

The Diagnostic Imaging Department of Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center offers state-of-the-art diagnostic services. Our team includes licensed x-ray technologists, certified CT technologists, and board certified Mammography technologists and radiologists. Our expert staff complements the comprehensive imaging technology, ensuring excellent patient care and treatment. We are the regional referral center for Northeastern Arizona. Our department is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days

Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) provides nutrition assessment that allows treatment plans to help individuals change their eating habits to maximize health. Working with the patient and other health care professionals, the registered dietitian identifies treatment goals and develops the nutrition prescription, providing self-management training through individual counseling. Services include individualized counseling for Anemia, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Cancer, Celiac Disease, Cholesterol, Diabetes, Diverticulitis, eating disorders, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Gestational Diabetes, Heart Disease, Hypertension, Hypoglycemia, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Disease, lactose intolerance, low sodium, Osteoporosis, Pediatrics, nutrition/diet related topics and weight loss.

Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center provides a physician-staffed Emergency department 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Summit Healthcare was the first hospital in Arizona to become a Level IV Trauma Center designated from the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma System. Level IV trauma center provides the important first steps in the care of a trauma patient: initial evaluation, stabilization, diagnostic capabilities and when appropriate, transfer a patient to a higher level of care.

Compassion, skill, and experience are brought to a patient’s home through Summit Healthcare Home Health. The White Mountain Community relies on this fully accredited division for in-home nursing, chronic disease management, and rehabilitation services. Home Health provides care beyond hospitalization to assist patients in their recovery process. The home environment allows for a more relaxed manner of creating and building the patient relationship. The Home Health staff is made up of Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Home Health Aides, and Social Workers. Home Health is often needed in situations including: recent hospitalization (including same-day surgeries); multiple illnesses; new diagnoses requiring teaching and support; urinary or bowel problems; open wounds; fractures; strokes; need for continued IV therapy; and respiratory problems. Prevention of further illness or injury is also an important part of Home Health services.

Patients may need assistance and advice with injections, intravenous (IV) medications and blood transfusions. The IV Therapy Department at Summit Healthcare offers comprehensive IV therapy services. Our team provides patient education and will work closely with patients and their physicians to manage care.

The Department of Laboratory Services provides stat and routine clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology services for hospital inpatients and outpatients, clinic and other non-hospital patients. Laboratory services are available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. The latest technologies, including molecular testing are used to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.

Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center offers a full continuum of occupational health services. The Occupational Health Department offers a wide range of physicals to meet your organization’s needs. In addition the department provides urine drug screening, testing and management for biohazard exposure, and adult immunizations. Appointments are not needed with the exception of physicals.

Summit Healthcare features four modern locations to meet your outpatient needs. Each location features skilled and caring medical professionals, performing a wide variety of outpatient services using state-of-the-art equipment within minutes of home.

At Summit Healthcare Pacemaker Clinic, specially trained registered nurses and physicians provide education and ongoing care for patients who have a pacemaker or ICD. Summit Healthcare provides a full-service state-of-the art Pacer Clinic for patients.

Summit Healthcare’s Pharmacy Department is dedicated to the responsible procurement, management, and use of medications throughout the hospital network. The Pharmacy provides distributive and clinical pharmacy services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for inpatient care. The department is responsible for processing, delivering, and monitoring drug therapy on all patients.

Summit Healthcare features skilled specialists and caring professionals performing a wide variety of surgical procedures using state-of-the-art equipment within minutes of your home.

In an effort to offer neurological services to the area Summit Healthcare continues to provide state-of-the-art telemedicine coverage to patients in the White Mountains. Current telemedicine programs offered through the Emergency Room at Summit Healthcare are Telestroke, Teleconcussion, and Teleneurology. Summit Healthcare is able to provide patients suffering from a stroke or having neurological symptoms a direct consultation with a board-certified neurologist 24/7. Through video conference technology we are able to connect the neurologist to the patient at Summit without having to leave the mountain for a consultation and provide our patients with quality care at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center.

The goal of Summit Rehabilitation Services occupational therapy team is to maximize an individual’s ability to regain functional independence in daily living activities and functional mobility in the home, work, and community while maintaining physical, physiological and emotional health. Summit Healthcare’s occupational therapy team will help people learn new skills or adapt to a permanent loss so they can do the day-to-day tasks that occupy their time.

Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center is proud to offer new moms an environment which embraces the needs of the entire family. Baby may stay with you in your room from birth to discharge. Educational programs, services and resources enhance the health and well-being of you and your family.

Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center is home to a specialized Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, allowing the hospital to offer a more comprehensive wound care program to manage chronic or non-healing wounds caused by diabetes, circulatory problems, and other conditions. The advanced Center houses two (2) hyperbaric chambers, the only rural hospital in northeastern Arizona to offer this service. Patients receive outstanding, professional, and courteous attention in a timely fashion, and are returned to the referring physician once the healing is satisfactory. Summit Healthcare’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center is an outpatient, hospital-based program that works in conjunction with the patient’s primary care physician. The program operates by appointment and requires a referral from the primary care physician.
