Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this pharmacy today due to a pharmacist named Michael S. and his condescending, unprofessional attitude. I’ve been taking my prescription for over seven years, and after a particular generic manufacturer’s version gave me headaches previously, I asked my doctor to specifically note that it should not be filled with that manufacturer. Despite the note on the prescription, the pharmacy filled it with that exact manufacturer. I politely brought this to Michael’s attention before leaving, assuming the note had simply been overlooked. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, he questioned me in a condescending tone about why I would take medication that gave me headaches, why I hadn’t requested the note two weeks earlier, and whether I had gone without my medication. When I explained that I had an existing supply from a different manufacturer, he accused me of stockpiling medication and insisted there was nothing he could do. Interestingly, after I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for his name, Michael suddenly changed his position and agreed to exchange the medication for a different generic. He also remarked, “We get what we get and we don’t throw a fit,” as if a patient expressing a legitimate concern about medication side effects is somehow being unreasonable. I understand that pharmacies have policies and limitations, but there is absolutely no excuse for speaking to patients this way. I followed my doctor’s instructions and made a reasonable request concerning a medication I’ve taken for years. I should not have to defend myself against accusations or tolerate condescending remarks just to get my prescription filled appropriately. I hope management addresses this interaction and reinforces the importance of treating patients with basic respect and professionalism.

My previous insurance forced me to get my prescriptions from CVS. I am thrilled that now I have changed insurance carriers, I can go back to Fry's. The staff are amazingly pleasant, knowledgeable and so helpful. John deserves special mention. John is such a superstar! He is great with my in-laws as well, in fact he looks after the whole family as well.

The so called pharmacist John and tech are useless, 3 times my wife and I have tried to update our insurance and they some how can’t figure it out. They looked at the physical card and seemed dumbfounded. United health care is not a small unique company. John needs some retaining along with his tech. I’m insured but they can’t figure out how to update my info. I’ll go when the more competent pharmacist is there. I’ll be checking into mal practice as now I cannot get medicine due to the pharmacists error.

I am not a person that leaves reviews but tonight I had to take the time. I got a call that my son had been inconsolable at day care and screamed when his ear was touched. I immediately called his pediatrician, picked him up, and took him in. Ear infection, both ears. No symptoms prior to today. Poor guy. By 3:30 we had the diagnoses, and were told the antibiotics were sent to our pharmacy. I always get a text from Fry’s when they receive a new medication order, but none ever came through. My husband called; they didn’t have it. My husband called the doctor, after 25 minutes on hold they said the after hours line would call us back. They never did. We call again. We get someone on the phone who fixes the problem. She personally called our pharmacy (this one) and made sure they had it and they knew it was urgent. Fry’s also called us personally to tell us they got it and we could come get it anytime before 8PM. We made it with 20 minutes to spare before closing. My son is resting peacefully and I can’t thank you enough. And this is just one time. I switched over to Fry’s after so many issues with CVS. They’ve been fantastic every time. Always a smile, always pleasant, always so helpful. Thank you for taking one part of life and making it easier. It may seem like a small thing but it’s HUGE to me. THANK YOU.
