The whole appointment experience was non stressful. Great team of people that work there! Kalyenn Egea, OD was very nice and patient doing the eye exam. Samantha assisted me with frames, billing etc. She has a wonderful personality and is a great asset to the Target optical Team. It was recommended from an actual customer to give them a try and the location of 7th st and Bell Rd. This was the first time I ever used Target optical 08/10/2026. "I will be going back"! I highly recommend this particular location and company! What are you waiting for ? :-)

From the moment my husband and I walked in we were treated so well. Eye contact with every single person and great communication from each one, nothing was confusing. The reception clerk was on top of our insurance info and our prescriptions from another eye doctor, great communicator and caring. He is a great multitasker was well answering phones and taking care of our information at the same time. The young assistant to Dr Castro was amazing and has a great knack for connecting with the patients - you don’t see that much now days in the younger generations - very impressed by her! The doc was awesome! Very thorough and did a great job of helping me see the best with contacts when I needed mono vision. He made sure to correct the astigmatism in BOTH eyes unlike my previous doc, and it made a huge difference! So glad he caught that! The salesperson, the closer, he made sure to go through everything simply and clearly with what our insurance would cover and made sure to provide us with the best deals. We walked out with an order placed for
our contact lenses for a year and a pair of glasses for us each. No pressure by him and he was also easy to connect with, great guy to chat with. This was by far the best experience in my 30 years here in Phoenix with an eye doctor. Top notch care and great service. So happy we found them!

Frequently Asked Questions About Dr. Castro and Associates
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What is involved in an eye exam?
An eye exam involves a series of simple but comprehensive tests that allow your optometrist to assess your vision and your eye health. Your optometrist will discuss the results of your eye exam with you and determine the right prescription to help you to see your best.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
