Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I have been using this pharmacy for over 6 years. It is decent, most staff are courteous and competent; however, I have come across an occasional floater tech or Cashier that is there to ring up meds that have been rude. With regard to refilling an Rx - if you switch Dr's, and call in for a refill authorization with a prior Dr office the Dr will NOT approve it. I've accidentally done this with mine. The pharmacy does NOT know who your providers are. It is your due diligence as a patient to notify them of a change. If you need to know if your Rx insurance is accepted at a pharmacy - you can call the number on the back of your card FASTER than it takes to ask someone to run your insurance. With regard to someone saying they are a 'provider' and tried to bring back an incorrectly filled med (which is reportable to the Board) and they wouldn't take it back - you should know better that they are not allowed to take it back if you are indeed a prescribed. With regard to improperly filled meds, I have had it happen once and they have filled it with the correct one at a different location and instructed me how to dispose of the incorrect med. All pharmacies are understaffed and over worked. The grass isn't always greener. Find the best/courteous team and be an advocate for yourself at the pharmacy and at dr's offices.

I used to come here for all of my prescriptions but the customer service has went down hill. The last time I went my daughter’s doctor phoned in a refill for her 3 days prior. I showed up to pick it up and they said, “it’s not ready yet, did you need it?” Umm… yes, I need it or I wouldn’t have requested a refill. And they said give us 30 mins and we can have it ready. Since I drove there with my 3 month old to get it, I had to wait in the car until they were done. But this has happened several times. They don’t actually fill it until you’re standing there asking if it’s ready, DAYS LATER.

I am a prescriber and former customer of Fry's. I stopped my relationship with Frys' pharmacy long time ago, since things would never go right and I also stopped sending my patient's medications to the pharmacy and advised them to try different pharmacy. However I decided to give them a try, one more time yesterday. My medication was filled with wrong dose and in a minute, when i returned to the pharmacy and informed them that it was filled wrong, all I was told is " sorry, we can not accept the medication since it left the pharmacy. This is our policy". Wrong dosage and pharmacy not accepting the return? fine but that does not mean that I have to pay for the wrong dose. Called the store supervisor and I was on hold for 30 minutes and did not get anyone on the phone. The person answered the call, stated " Sorry, we are very busy". Still waiting for the supervisor to call back. Take my advice and do not fill your Rx at Fry's. They are understaffed and many errors happen under the pressure. I am going to dispute the charge of $86.00 and that was the last time I work with Fry's. They have lost the business with me and possibly many of my patients.
