Second Opinions

Have you been seen by another dental office, but still have questions, or even misgivings? We always tell people to “trust your gut”. To that end, we offer complimentary second opinions for patients who’d like us to take another look at their dental condition. This a free service, with no pressure or sales tactics. Very often we determine that patients will need significantly less treatment at our office, which could save them thousands in unnecessary dental treatment. We love being the bearer of good news, so don’t hesitate to reach and take advantage of this offer!

General Dentistry

General dentistry practitioners are the dentistry equivalent of primary care providers: They serve as your top resource for preserving and improving your oral health. Covering preventative measures and restorative procedures, general dentistry involves the application of a variety of useful skills.

Children’s Dentistry

About 42% of children between the ages of 2 and 11 have at least one cavity. Statistically, boys are more likely than girls to have cavities. In addition, those living at or below the poverty level are significantly more likely than their higher-income peers to have cavities. Thankfully, children’s dentistry at The Dentist can reverse this trend and reduce the number of oral health issues affecting children.

Family Dentistry

Our professionals at The Dentist specialize in family dentistry and have learned how to treat people of all ages. This is a little different from general dentistry. Our family dentist has specialized training to treat specific ages, meaning their education includes treating children and elderly patients. A general dentist has been trained to perform general dental practices, but they haven’t received specific training for children or elderly adults. If you’re looking for a new dentist, our dental office in the Glendale area offers care for your entire family. It’s even better if you find one you and your children can visit for the foreseeable future.

Root Canals

If you suffer from persistent, localized dental pain, you might have a severe tooth infection that requires a root canal to alleviate the problem. Root canals are a common dental procedure at The Dentist designed to clean up bacteria from infected roots of teeth. Telltale signs that could indicate that you need root canal treatment include swelling, sensitivity to extreme temperatures, discoloring, and chipped teeth.

Crowns

Just like the cap that covers your toothpaste bottle, a dental crown is a cap that covers your tooth. Typically made of porcelain or metal, dental crowns are placed over teeth to restore tooth function and cosmetic appearance. Here are a few things to know about dental crown procedures.

Bridges

If you have one or more missing teeth, The Dentist can close those gaps with dental bridges. Dental bridges are natural-looking dental prosthetics that anchor to adjacent teeth. Dental bridges are one of the most commonly used treatments in Glendale for replacing missing teeth.

Full Dentures

When teeth are missing, it can significantly affect how a patient feels about themselves, especially if they have visible tooth gaps when smiling or talking. In addition to altering our patient’s appearance, missing teeth can also cause discomfort. Patients can lose teeth by accident, through infection, or from severe decay. Full dentures are an excellent alternative that The Dentist encourages for our patients who want to replace teeth when implants are not a viable option due to bone loss or expense. Full dentures require some getting used to and won’t feel exactly like the natural teeth, but today’s dentures can be removed and put back in the mouth as necessary. Plus, full dentures are more comfortable and natural-looking than ever.

Implants

Dental implants are one of the most natural-looking, long-lasting ways to replace missing teeth. Because an implant replaces both the root and the visible tooth, it looks, feels, and functions much like a natural tooth. At The Dentist, our doctors place and restore dental implants in-house. You can go from your first consultation to your final crown in one familiar office, with the same team you already know. Implants can be a good fit if you’re missing one tooth, several teeth, or a full arch, or if you’re ready to move on from a bridge or denture that doesn’t feel secure.

Invisalign Treatment

Invisalign is an Easy Fix for Crooked Teeth Getting straighter teeth is still a dream for many adults. Though braces are a common treatment used to improve teeth alignment, most adults are reluctant to get braces due to their unappealing look and underlying hassles. With Invisalign, people in Glendale can get straighter teeth without the discomfort of traditional braces. What is Invisalign? Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable trays to straighten the teeth. These clear trays are custom-made, less noticeable, and more comfortable than traditional metal braces. They are made from BPA-free plastic and can be worn by adults and teenagers. Invisalign is a more aesthetically pleasing option for adults who wish to correct their alignment in half the treatment time of traditional braces, and with minimal discomfort. These clear aligners are a discreet solution for getting your dream smile and correcting misaligned teeth. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign doesn’t use any metal wires or brackets to shift the teeth. This product also allows for better oral hygiene, as the aligners can be removed while brushing and eating. Invisalign is an orthodontic innovation that is minimally invasive and highly effective.

Veneers

Cosmetic dental veneers are coverings placed over natural teeth to improve the overall appearance of one’s smile. The thin coverings are most commonly crafted from porcelain and/or composite materials and used to correct minor imperfections such as deep stains, gaps between teeth, and small chips. Veneers are a popular choice among patients looking to brighten their smiles, as they blend in well with the natural teeth, and the procedure is considered minimally invasive. Veneers Procedure and Types of Veneers In certain cases, patients at The Dentist may only need a single veneer to correct discoloration or one broken or chipped tooth. Alternatively, The Dentist may recommend a full set of six to eight veneers to cover the top front teeth. The two types of veneers are traditional veneers and no-prep veneers and, the procedure varies slightly based on the specific veneer type.
