Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Yesterday I was at the pharmacy to pick up my medication, and the pharmacist told me to wait a moment. I said yes, thank you. He looked behind me and saw a woman, so he told me to wait ten minutes. I asked why, and he said he wanted to help the woman. I told him it was a queue and I was first. He told me to wait a moment, that my medication was ready. I called the first person in charge, and he transferred me to the second. I spoke to him, and he lied, saying the woman was ahead of me and they hadn't done anything. For your information, this isn't the first time; all pharmacists treat me the same way.

I have used this Fry's Pharmacy for close to 10 years because of the wonderful Pharmacy techs and Pharmacists. They are helpful, kind, patient, and knowledgeable, no matter how busy they are!! They take the time to listen to concerns and answer any questions! I would highly recommend this particular Fry's Pharmacy if you are looking for quality service that you can trust!

(Contiuation from Dena Williams review below) I obviously wasn't going to get anywhere so I apologized for any miscommunication, said I really respected her job, and held out my hand to shake her hand to symbolize the end of the issue. Still just looking at me with the same blank affect & I said, "Oh, so you are not willing to shake my hand?" She said, "No" almost under her breath and limply extended her hand and gave the most ineffectual handshake I've ever experienced which from her side was obviously "How to tell someone to $#@& off without telling someone to $#@& off." I CANNOT believe someone with her education and important responsibilities would think either of these would be acceptable interactions. I can easily handle uncouth behavior, but I would bet this is not a one-off and I highly request her superiors monitor her conversations with your customers. From a Fry's Corporation standpoint heaven help her she is talking to her elderly and/or very ill customers like she did to me. Completely unacceptable

Beyond disappointed and frustrated. I usually have very positive experiences and interactions with Fry's pharmacy staff (including this one), but two interactions today via phone and in-person are leading to this extremely negative review. Left a detailed voicemail yesterday re: a refill for a medication which understandingly, being a strictly controlled substance needs careful regulation. I totally get it so I tried being as helpful as possible in my message by providing all the important details like contact info, doctor's name, prescription type/strength and confirmed twice I was needing a refill, but they are welcome to call me if more info is needed. I was very happy to receive a follow-up call this morning from the pharmacy expecting a short but pleasant conversation to confirm we were all on the same page or if there were any postponements in my refill I could expect. If so, no worries. I answered the phone, said hello 3 times while the woman on the other side of the phone continued talking to someone else. I understand how busy the pharmacy can get so I wasn't the least upset, but was thinking maybe they didn't mean to call me yet. I didn't want to hang up so I could help expedite any hurdles in filling the scrip. The caller finally, I think, mumbled her name, said something else I didn't catch and asked what I wanted. I was a little taken aback at the unfriendly, super curt affect in her voice and apologized if I wasn't clear on my voicemail that I needed a refill. I'm usually super-friendly, kind & smiling when working with others, even on the phone, but her shocking curtness immediately in the phone call made me take it down a notch to make this a more business-like, transactional dialogue with just the who/what/where/when, etc. I didn't think any overt pleasantries from my side would help her mood. Towards the end of the call she said, "You need to pick it up BY 2." (AFTER she told me they haven't filled it yet.) This didn't make sense so I politely asked her to reiterate without directly calling out her grammar and/or having to potentially make more than 1 trip to pick up the refill. I said, "Just to clarify, I have to pick it up BY 2, so if I pick it up by 1 today it will be ready?". At this point her disdain for me went into overdrive so she again just repeated her "BY 2" mantra and then just HUNG UP ON ME!!! Ummm... WHAT?!?!?! Just before 2pm today I received the text my scrip was ready. Bounced over to the pharmacy, picked it up, paid for it, and asked the nice young lady helping me for assistance from the pharmacy manager or the pharmacist (whomever would be the best person to talk to about the earlier phone call.) I was pleased the pharmacist came over to talk to me. I asked if there was somewhere we could talk privately. She just kind of stared at me, opened the door from the pharmacy side, took 2 steps and stood in front of the door. Again I asked if there was somewhere we can discuss something privately. (Why on earth would I want to discuss such absolutely poor customer service potentially in front of other customers? Short answer... I wouldn't!) Again, she just sort of stared at me and mumbled we could go to the vaccine room. Once inside I asked if they record the phone calls. Still staring, face not showing ANY emotion said they do not, but she confirmed she was the person who called me and said I was "COMING AT (HER)" this morning. I said I felt it was quite the opposite (I literally have no reason to be rude to anyone, let alone someone who is trying to help me with necessary medication.) She went on to repeat the exact words about the pickup time. Whatever.

The customer service here is a disgrace, by far the worst experience I have ever had. For a pharmacy to refuse to give a prescription for pain medication after receiving a c section is unacceptable then after the doctor confirmed they are needed they still refused. They need to not only be replaced but should be arrested because did not fulfill the obligation they took when they decided to be a pharmacist. Please if anyone from frys actually reads these which I take it they don't please do something about providing training to these highly uneducated unprofessional ladies you have working there.
