  On our darkest day Kay and the rest of the team at Norvel Owens showed up for us with compassion and professionalism. We lost our baby girl, and I was dreading the next step of what to do after your baby dies. No one prepares you for this time. Kay went out of her way to come and pick our little girl after hours - giving us the most time to hold her and be her parents. Kay worked with us to get everything arranged, including transportation across state lines, picking out the casket, and arranging her little body. These are the people you want helping you in a time of grief and sorrow. I never thought I would be in a position of recommending a mortuary (and I’m so sorry if you are in the position of researching for one) but I highly recommend Norvel Owens. Thank you all for everything.

  We have to show our appreciation to Norvel Owens. We were just passing through to go camping with family and came across many unfortunate tire situations with our pop-up camper. We stayed the night in flagstaff since we got another flat with our old spare tire. We were up early to get to discount tires and pulled over since there was no way we were going to make it. Norvel happened to be outside. He saw our situation with our two toddlers. He came over with a heavy duty jack (we did have one) but just the thought was too kind and his was a heavy duty. But that’s not all. Mr. Owens asked me if I knew how to drive a 5 speed which I do, and he let me use one of his car to drive to discount tires to replace our two. We truly ran into an angel thank you!

  We loved the memorial service for my dear friend John this year . They put on a beautiful service complete with amazing music and bag pipes. Thank you for the amazing customer service too ! Have a blessed day 😇

  Everyone we worked with was kind and helpful during a very difficult time, but I think the process could be more organized. When families are grieving, it’s hard to remember every detail that was discussed. A simple checklist or handout of what needs to be done would have helped us avoid missing small but important details, like providing a photo for the guestbook. My brother's burial was at Camp Navajo, and we were told that they would handle everything for the burial because they were strict. There was never mention about needing pallbearers, even after we turned in the program information where pallbearers are usually acknowledged. On the day of the burial, we were caught off guard when pallbearers were suddenly required. While the funeral turned out well overall, having a clear checklist would make the process much smoother and helpful for grieving families. It might also help if they offered a sheet for preferred contacts or resources that they've worked with. For things like radio announcements and honor riders for military members. Just a suggestion.
