Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Hey, don't go here. In 3 years, I've had nothing but trouble from this pharmacy. My final experience with them was just now, when the woman who answered the phone hung up on me. I called on Friday morning for a refill on my regular prescription. The machine said the soonest they could have it ready was not Friday or Saturday -- but Sunday, at 10:30. I was irritated it would take so long to put 90 pills in a bottle, but I had enough medicine to make it to Sunday, so I was fine to wait. But it wasn't ready Sunday either. I called just now and it still wasn't ready. I got the machine to let me speak to a real person, who upon hearing my request to cancel the order said "already put it back" and hung up the phone. I didn't even get a complete sentence out of the person. I was so curious what she meant about putting it back when the machine said they were working on it the whole time. Anyway, I'm still waiting for my prescription and I'm out of medicine now. The pharmacy I'm trying to transfer it to said they needed this Fry's to cancel the order in the computer, so I guess later I will find out if they have actually done that or not. And it's always something like this with this Fry's pharmacy. "We didn't get your prior auth. You'll have to call your doctor and ask them to send one" -- while I'm sitting in the room with the doctor, who sent the prior auth while I watched because we had this trouble the last time and the time before that. "Oh, whoops. Your prescription isn't ready yet. Soonest we can have that for you is in another hour" -- after showing up when the pharmacy staff specifically told me to. "Oh, you have insurance on file and they have to sign off too before you can have the medicine. No, you can't just bypass them and pay cash" -- when I was tapering off a prescribed dose of diazepam and really couldn't miss any.I really tried to work with these folks, to figure out the secret to get my prescribed medication without any trouble, but it has proved impossible every single time.

Incompetence and lack of pride in one’s work is how this pharmacy can be described. According to the pharmacy tech at this location: “When we get a prescription, it gets scheduled for one or two days later for pickup”. What? For routine prescriptions, I can understand this protocol, but not when you have gone to an urgent care and you need the medication immediately. Every single pharmacy I have gone to in my life aside from this one has confirmed that it is normal to get medication picked up same day within an hour or two. I expressed these sentiments and his reply with a condescending tone was “We are Fry’s pharmacy, not another pharmacy”. Thank you for stating the obvious. To be honest, I think that he was more concerned about closing for lunch than completing his duties during his shift. He made sure to slam the metal gate at the pharmacy window to close the pharmacy for lunch… very professional indeed.
