  I had a heart attack in June 2025 and was under Dr. Loyo’s care at Arkansas Heart Center in Fort Smith. While the stents were eventually placed, the overall experience was frustrating and concerning. When I developed symptoms and a carotid ultrasound showed significant stenosis, Dr. Loyo wanted to wait a full year to recheck. I had to push back, go to my primary doctor (Dr. Monique), and get a CTA scan that revealed >70% blockage. Dr. Loyo’s delay could have put me at higher stroke risk. I ended up switching to Mercy for better coordinated care. The clinic also has long wait times (often 2+ hours), and I frequently felt like just a number. Medication adjustments (higher beta blockers) made my fatigue and angina worse, and I had to manage that myself. I’m grateful to be alive, but I cannot recommend Dr. Loyo or this practice based on the delays, communication issues, and impersonal care. I switched to Mercy and have been much happier with the proactive team there. 6/24/26

  The wait is never long no matter if I'm there for tests, or a consultation. Everyone there has been professional as well as friendly.
