  We had. Great experience dealing with John at AmRamp Birmingham. They traveled to Sylacauga to install the one at my house. When we finished, they came to collect their ramp. Our property was respected and anything they moved to install the ramp, they put back when they uninstalled it. We’ll definitely use them again if we need a ramp.

  I highly recommend Amramp. We needed a ramp installed quickly after a sudden disability in our family, and Amramp responded fast and professionally. They were easy to work with from start to finish, and the ramp suits our needs perfectly. Getting in and out of the house is now much safer and easier. At an otherwise stressful time for our family, Amramp took one big worry off our plate. If you need accessibility changes to your home, this is the place to go.

  Wow, talk about customer service! We needed a last minute ramp for my father in law and these sweet wonderful men took time away from their Labor Day to get it done. Thank you Amramp!! 5 stars!!

  I rented two ramps following orthopedic surgery 8 weeks ago. One at the threshold of my front door, and one extending into my front yard. The day after I came home from the rehab hospital the threshold ramp was removed by my physical therapist after he evaluated it and determined that the installation and angle were unsafe. The company did remove that charge, which I appreciated. But when I told John that my daughter and I almost fell backwards as she pushed me (in my WC) into the house, the day I came home, because the threshold ramp was dangerously steep, his response was “I was hoping that size would work so it would give you enough room to make the turn to get in the house”, (FTR; My porch is 8 feet wide) He chose to put a 2 foot threshold ramp over an 9 inch high incline. (I sent him photos of the measurements, ahead of time, taken by my neighbor who is a licensed general contractor, of the height & length of my front steps and threshold) Needless to say my experience ultimately left me uncomfortable with the ramp rental, and I felt anxious every time a went across the ramp going over my front steps and into the yard (knowing the threshold ramp had been installed unsafely) I would recommend carefully verifying measurements, ramp slope, and installation before relying on the equipment, particularly when safety and mobility are involved. Also, get any promises or agreements regarding rental terms in writing. One of my first questions I asked when inquiring about the ramp over the phone was if I did not need it for the entire month could it be prorated and I was told, “yes”and that I’ll “get refunded for the time not used if I don’t need for entire month” However, when he arrived to pick up payment (a few days after installation) I told him my physical therapist wants to work with me on using front porch steps so I’ll only need the front porch ramp for two weeks. I was then told “the prorating terms do NOT apply to the first month”. Looking back, I wish I had only told him I needed it for two weeks from the get-go, and then if needed longer… price accordingly, but while I was in rehab it was unknown how long before I could navigate steps. (Thus I asked the “what if” question ahead of time) Overall I feel that I was taken advantage of during an unavoidable vulnerable situation

  We are extremely happy with our Amramp configuration. We requested it for my mother's house because she (92) had fallen and broken her hip. John Cochran was very easy to deal with. He drove down from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa to take measurements and map out where the components would go. We had a tricky configuration as we had to go off the side of the front porch. Components had to be ordered. However, it was built 12 days after measurements were taken. And, let me tell you, those guys worked HARD in the August Alabama sun. They were drenched in sweat! But, they managed to get our ramp configuration done in just a few hours. Four different DCH Home Healthcare workers (OT, PT & nurses) have all marveled at the ramp, commenting on its sturdiness, its non-slip ridges, and the holes to let rain go through, as opposed to all the wooden ramps they've seen. I would highly recommend getting an Amramp.
