I went in to get evaluated for lens replacement. The Staff was very professional and ran me through a series of test. The doctor evaluated my situation and recommended that I get light adjustable lenses and that I go to a different place as Coastal does not offer those. I appreciate his honesty so much

Terrible customer service and a manager who doesn’t care.
My daughter showed up early for her annual eye exam. Only when she was ready to go back to the room did they tell her she had to have a parent since she was under 18. She is just 6 months shy but I understand it’s policy. She immediately called me so I could meet her at the clinic. She told the front desk that I would be there in 10 minutes. That’s when things went downhill.
The front desk person said they were busy and she could no longer be seen and would have to reschedule. I called the office manager to complain, received her voicemail and she has never returned my call. We won’t be returning.

Coastal eye associates are the best. They are polite punctual and very cooperative. this includes not only the receptionists but also everyone in the office. The care was excellent and I would highly recommend this eye care clinic.

At the follow up eye exam while taking a picture of my eye, I commented on a smudge seen on the camera lens. Supposedly, it does not affect the picture as he cleaned the lens with alcohol. The wait time in dirty waiting area 1h15m for dilation, one picture, and consult with doctor. Doctor said I was lucky my eye didn't look like the photo of someone else that had more severe problems. Costco took better care of my sight issues, quicker and detailed instructions, and although very accurate and professional, they refer out for more serious conditions.

I have been seeing Dr. Choi for several years. Have had an appointment scheduled for 3/16 for months and received a phone call on 3/11 that they no longer take BCBS even though they show up as in network on the BCBS website and I have an approved referral from BCBS that is good from 12/2025 until 6/2026! Apparently BCBS is unaware that Coastal Eye is refusing patients...
The person I spoke to (Cameron) said that it's because it's a "marketplace" insurance....which is 100% false! I pay for my plan directly through BCBS and it is a GOLD plan! So if they aren't taking "marketplace" insurance (which mine is not) I feel bad for patients that actually have "marketplace" insurance. No explanation, no letter, NOTHING from Coastal Eye other than we do not take that insurance 5 days before my appointment.
Terrible customer service!
