Today my friend Felicia visited the LensCrafters Southlake location to look at Meta glasses for herself after recently spending over $500 on Meta glasses for her son at this same store right before Christmas. While browsing, she noticed an employee named Joan signal to another coworker to watch her. Shortly after, that coworker approached her asking if she needed help. Felicia politely stated she was fine and suggested assisting the other customers who were already in the store ahead of her. Despite this, Joan continued to closely follow her throughout the store, making her feel uncomfortable and singled out. Felicia eventually asked to speak with the manager and explained the situation, expressing confusion as to why she received excellent customer service when she was spending money previously, but felt monitored and treated differently today. The manager did offer a $100 discount on frames, which was appreciated, but it does not erase how shaken and disrespected Felicia felt. As African American customers, we should not be made to feel judged or monitored based on the color of our skin. Felicia is a returning customer who was prepared to make another purchase, and no one should feel profiled while shopping. This review is being left to bring awareness and to encourage better training and accountability so this does not happen to others.

Live this location! Joanna is the absolute best and I wait just to see her. She’s helped me pick so many pairs of glasses. The staff at this location is the best of any LensCrafters I’ve been to, friendly and fast. Great selection of frames. Always come here!

I visited the store to see if they could help me out and fix my glasses. I needed a screw for the arm. I am not a customer of theirs, but they fixed my glasses anyway, free of charge. Thank you! Great customer service!

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
