The nurses and doctors have the worst bedside manner.
A handler for an elderly man OPENLY talked about not wanting to “work with crazy people” and stating “crazy people need to be drugged and thrown away” to an SAPD officer who agreed. It was disgusting to see and hear people speak so disrespectfully and loosely from people who we are supposed to depend on for safety and wellness.

If a 0 were an option that’s the score I would give. Not to undermine the difficult work that the doctors and staff have chosen but this was the worse ER experience of our lives.
We were taken by ambulance due to health concerns for our daughter with disabilities and arrived at 1:15pm.
It took more than 3.5 hours to get an IV for blood work. She had several X-rays and nasal tests. After 6 hours we were moved to a different ER room and after 7.5 hours we were told our daughter had a cold. No treatment or answers for what actually brought us to the ER.
I understand this is a teaching hospital, we do have health insurance, but it is where our doctor said to go.
The inmates, ED patient, possible stroke victim, and others who arrived after us had more attention and care.
My daughter had not eaten or had water when we arrived, but because of the possible need for sedation, she was not provided any nutrition or IV fluids. She finally got a sandwich box after 8:30pm.
Going more than 7 hours from the first conversation with a doctor to the final conversation when they had results but no time to share then was frustrating to say the least.
I do not recommend going to the University Hospital under any emergency circumstance. The new parts of the building are beautiful but the ER and staff procedures are not.

went here last night to the women’s urgent care registration could have been a little bit better though waiting time could’ve been a little bit better but then again it was the women’s center so a lot of pregnant women so really can’t complain about that the OB, the med student and the med doctor that saw me were amazing. The wait time was insane 5 1/2 hours could’ve been better but once I got in the back a whole lot better of experience the OB the med student listened to what was going on with every single detail 100% apologized for the waiting she made sure i was comfortable with everything she was doing there was one thing I rejected because I didn’t want the pain to get worse and she completely understood that she made sure that it was whatever I was comfortable with not whatever she needed and she completely understood that

If you’re trying to get information on your loved one I wish you well. You would do better to get Ken’s5 news to help you. My husband went to the emergency room on 3/27/26 they keep him overnight for evaluation. On 3/28/26 I called to find out if my husband was going to be released and that’s when the games begin! The operator would transfer me to the ER and the person at the ER would tell me my husband was not there. They would transfer me to the nurses station but I only got an automative line. This went on several times so finally I told the operator that the hospital needs to be reported and that a news channel should get involved. This is a serious situation because I didn’t know if my husband was dead or alive! Please don’t just take my word for it just read the other reviews. And what ever trumped up 5 star they have I would seriously consider if they are legitimate. If you know what’s best for you go to another hospital and leave this one alone! This hospital is pathetic!! Unless you’re wealthy!!!
