  At 11:00 AM on March 25, 2026, I went to the H-E-B Pharmacy at 1150 NW Loop 1604 in San Antonio, TX to pick up a $154 prescription for special high-end eye drops. Since I’ve never used this type of medication before and had zero experience applying eye drops, I specifically requested a pharmacist consultation after paying. A young pharmacist with straight black hair came over. She barely glanced at the bag and dismissively said, “Just follow the instructions and you should be good.” Shocked by how useless that was, I explained again that I had never used these drops before and asked for a proper walkthrough. Her response? “Just one drop in your eye.” When I asked for actual guidance — “Should I hold the edges of my eye open like this?” (while demonstrating), “Should I be standing or lying down? Should I avoid light exposure?” — she repeatedly shrugged it off with “Whatever you want.” It became crystal clear she was intentionally being as unhelpful as possible. She showed zero care, zero patience, and complete apathy while “consulting” me on how to safely use an expensive medication I was completely inexperienced with. I walked away stunned, feeling completely unsupported and unsafe about administering the drops correctly. This level of laziness and indifference from a pharmacist is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. H-E-B charges premium prices and advertises professional care — this was the exact opposite. That pharmacist needs serious accountability and retraining. I will never trust this pharmacy again and strongly advise everyone else to think twice before relying on them for important medication counseling. Do better, H-E-B. Your customers deserve actual professionals who care.

  Im very concerned about the staff that works at this pharmacy and so should everyone who chooses to do business with them. I went today because I needed a 50 unit syringe and had the box of my medicine that said "Inject 50 units under the skin" A pharmacist and the girl at the drive through were trying to give me syringe with a intramuscular needle then proceeded to tell me they couldn't only sell me one since im not a "heb " customer. Excuse me? I am making a purchase , I AM CUSTOMER. I needed an insulin syringe which they have in stock all the time. How is a pharmacist pass over the fact the box says in the directions and in the dose to inject the type of syringe ill be needing? Do not trust people at this pharmacy with your prescriptions they cannot read basic directions on a medication box.

  Fast and friendly service! We get our diabetic supplies here! They aways have a wide selection in stock which is hugely convenient! I used to use Walmart and it was always hit or miss on if they had the longer half inch tips! I don't know if it's just that Walmart or all Walmarts in general, but we had about 75/25 chance of disappointment/in stock exactly the way we want! I don't think we will ever go anywhere else and I really wish we had HEB stores back home in Colorado! Kinda bummed out... But thank you HEB!! We love ya!
