If I could give it more stars I would. I have been in many ER’s the last 4 years dealing with a prolapsed bladder including Base hospitals. This hospital went above and beyond and absolutely blew every hospital I have ever been at away in customer service and care. Every staff member was absolutely amazing acting like they were having the best day ever. Which as a patient and family member is exactly what you want. When you are already in pain to the point of almost passing out when you step from your vehicle to the wheel chair kindness matters. I just had a bladder surgery, hysterectomy, and a cyst taken off an ovary all at the same surgery on 3/6/26 and hasn’t been an easy recovery. Have been constipated so bad I couldn’t have a bowel movement for 5 days the first time, the second time 6 days which landed me in the ER at University. I had just stayed in the hospital when I had my surgery for 2 days and was not looking forward to what I knew they were going to have to do still with a catheter in which was today. I knew it would be a eniema if I was lucky only at worst a bowel impaction. I also ended up doing a void test to try to get the catheter out which I had previously tried 3-4 times before never being successful. But they were able to get me feeling the best I have felt since I had the surgery. When you have been in and out of facilities where right after you have surgery they don’t want to give you enough meds to just be able to not cry because you are a chronic pain patients on a daily opioid regiment because they aren’t aware that chronic pain patients on such regimen need more pain killers than the typical patient, it becomes brutal for the patient and leaves them feeling like they aren’t having their basic needs met and recovery is brutal. When a nurse comes in smiling at you and happy to be there it makes all the difference in the world and actually helps patients pain. It also makes patients feel heard who are recovering from difficult surgical procedures. The guest accommodations help the patient also not have to worry about their loved ones rest especially if they were like my husband who had to work all night and not get any sleep the night before. It allows the patient to truly focus on their own recovery and not have to worry about their loved one in the process. I am typically a pretty harsh critic due to my personal experience at hospitals but this one superseded my expectations and led me to feel comfortable and I would recommend anyone here. Others hospitals could really benefit greatly learning from University Hospital’s way of caring for patients and their families, and yes while medical expertise matters too University has both and the attitude with the way they treat the patient is just as important. 12 stars for University!

Went it for an ultrasound because I don't have an OB and they charged me $1500!! Literally just an ultrasound and a pregnancy test. They also allowed a male medical student in while they did the trans-vaginal ultrasound, which I was not expecting and was not happy with. Someone (maybe the student) wrote on my report "Did not report any physical pain" which he didn't even ask me about and I DID have pain. The doctor told me she was going to show me the ultrasound images and then proceeded to leave me waiting in the room for 40 minutes alone, never returned, and someone finally came in to tell me that I could leave. I applied to the "financial assistance" offered on mychart and it turned out to be CareLink (which is a medical coverage you actually have to pay for). The online form asked me to upload the WRONG documents which I spent hours uploading. Then they told me that I should apply for their Charity application so I spent several more hours uploading documentation for that....only for them to tell me that I am not eligible for Charity financial assistance since I am eligible for CareLink (which again I have to PAY for). What absolute disgusting nonsense!! The system is rigged to bog you down so that you just give up and pay them the ridiculous amount of money that they want. Will never be returning. UPDATE: I called their "patient advocate" department at their suggestion and all they did was justify their protocol and outrageous prices. The woman (Victoria was her name) told me she would look into the possibilty of me being eligible for emergency medicaid (or something like that). It's been a week and she never got back to me. I called and left a message and still no call back. What a joke! The whole hospital system is a scam.

A very unprofessional woman named Nikita, the so-called manager, and Dr. Grimes made me feel extremely uneasy and attacked me for asking a straightforward question. It was a terrible experience for me and my chil, especially since they all work with children. Never bring your kids here.

This facility is top notch and has been providing the upmost care for me during my first pregnancy. I have had a difficult first trimester with excessive vomiting and most recently battling the flu, and the team here has been nothing but exceptional! I’ve been here more than a handful of times and each visit I’m treated so kindly and professionally by all the staff members. I even switched my primary OB GYN to the Robert Green clinic so that I can stay within this professional network of health care providers. I wanted to extend a sincere thanks to RN Raquel on my most recent visit as I’ve always been a hard stick when drawing blood. Raquel took her time and used the machine to prevent any pain on my end. She went above and beyond to make me comfortable and I’ll never forget her kindness. Thank you UH team for all the support and kindness you have shown. I’m happy to be your patient and look forward to delivering my baby with this incredible staff here at the hospital.
