David is who I initially contacted and Laura handled the scheduling. She was so understanding w scheduling and working around my needs and circumstances. Jayden did the fitting and was so polite and respectful. This is the only company that we will get any equipment from. Thank you all so much!!

Today I received service for my breaks and Francisco was kind enough to give my very old wheelchair a nice upgrade with cleaning my wheels and getting me some upgraded replacements pieces and my chair is now running smoothly. 1000% recomendado! I am constantly told to go back to the doctor’s office to resend documents that were already faxed. The process is unnecessarily slow and frustrating, especially for families caring for medically complex children. When I expressed concern, I was told over the phone that I could “take my business elsewhere” and that I was not being held hostage. This response shows a complete lack of accountability and care for their patients. I would not recommend this company to families who need reliable, compassionate service.

National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
