For those who know me, you’re aware that I rarely complain—especially not publicly. However, a recent experience at the Gold’s Gym on FM 78 has compelled me to speak up.
I have been a member of this facility since 2010. I train there daily and, over the years, I’ve built genuine relationships with both fellow patrons and staff—individuals I’ve come to regard as my gym family.
On the morning of 19 November, I arrived for my usual early workout. After scanning in, I was called back to the front desk and informed that I “did not have a membership.” This was said by an employee I interact with almost every day. Puzzled, I explained that I am enrolled in the Active & Fit program and have maintained my membership for the past 15 years. The response was simply repeated, along with a suggestion that I contact my insurance provider. At that point, the interaction had already disrupted my workout, so I left and reached out to Active & Fit directly. They confirmed that my membership was active and contacted Gold’s Gym on my behalf.
My concern is not with the system error—issues happen. Rather, it is the dismissive attitude I encountered. After so many years of consistent membership, a more considerate approach—such as asking me to speak with a manager upon their arrival—would have been both reasonable and respectful.
Unfortunately, this experience has left a lasting impression. I will not be returning to the Gold’s Gym on FM 78. As the saying goes, “Go where you’re appreciated, not tolerated.” Peace!! #goldsgym #goldswalzem

I have been working out for many years. I decided to try this gym because is just a little bit close to my house than the one I go. Considering the high price of the membership, I had high expectations. To my surprise, I found dirty machines, poor air conditioning, low lights, no music at all and corrosion in some equipment. I understand the gym might be old, but people pay a higher membership that the other 2 gyms nearby and that should be enough for them to be better. It’s very deteriorated. Not coming back!
