DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH PA SELAM LIMENNIH. The front desk staff and particularly the nurse who triaged me was incredibly sweet and helpful, however my experience with PA Selam Limennih was absolutely horrible. I originally came in for severe back pain, and after she asked me questions about my pain, she had me lay down to perform the physical. When she was done, I started to get up and in an attempt to help me, she yanked me up pretty roughly, which had caught me off guard, but I didn’t think much of it. I then asked her to check my ear, specifically the right ear because it had been hurting a lot from some sort on infection, and I had SPECIFICALLY explained to her that it was the right ear that was causing me pain. She said she could take a look, then proceeded to painfully TUG my infected ear. I gasped aloud because it hurt so much, and even after me gasping, she STILL proceeded to roughly shove her index finger against that same ear. I got extremely upset and exclaimed that she was hurting me, and, without even batting an eyelash, she simply replied that it was “part of the exam” with absolutely no remorse or concern. When I told her that yes I understood that, but she was still hurting me, she then started to argue with me and kept repeating that “it was a part of the exam” and got extremely defensive.
I had made an appointment w/ AFC Urgent Care Rowlett because the reviews were extremely positive, but instead left feeling mistreated, ignored, and shocked with how rough and indifferent Limennih was. I may not be a doctor or a physician assistant, but I’ve worked in healthcare for the past four years as an optometrist patient tech, and now currently working as a patient coordinator at an ophthalmologist center, and I know this is NOT how you treat patients, especially a patient who is already in pain. On top of all of this, after leaving, I ended up having to ice the area of where she grabbed my right ear once I got home for the redness and pain to calm down.
A provider should LISTEN when their patient says they are in pain, especially if THAT PROVIDER IS CAUSING PAIN TO THEIR PATIENT. Not to be handled aggressively, and be dismissed when the patient speaks up. I am honestly shaken with how I was treated, and PA Limennih’s complete lack of concern or compassion despite my multiple outcries of pain. BEWARE OF WHO YOU ARE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH HERE.
