Disappointing and unprofessional experience. I attended a class today at Club Pilates and was extremely uncomfortable with how the instructor, Dessria, interacted with me throughout the session. At one point, I briefly glanced at my phone due to an urgent personal matter. Despite it being momentary, Dessria repeatedly instructed me to put my phone away in a condescending, disciplinary tone, as if I were a child. I understand and respect studio rules, but the manner in which this was addressed was excessive, unprofessional, and embarrassing in a group setting. After class, when returning my equipment, I placed the jump board back incorrectly. Rather than handling it professionally or simply correcting it herself, Dessria attempted to instruct me again in a patronizing way. At that point, the interaction felt unnecessarily hostile. I am a paying client — not an employee — and do not expect to be spoken to or managed in that manner. Additionally, there was a noticeable difference in how ClassPass members were treated compared to studio members. The overall tone felt dismissive, as if booking through ClassPass made participants less deserving of respect. That distinction should never affect how clients are spoken to in a class they paid to attend. I am an adult, a professional, and a business owner in this area. I attend fitness classes for wellness, not to be chastised or made uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression, and I hope management seriously reviews how instructors communicate with all clients, regardless of membership type.

I really tried to give this place a fair chance, but the experience has been nothing but frustrating. The waitlist system is completely flawed—you don’t get notified when a spot opens up, so you’re expected to keep checking the app like it’s your full-time job. Today, I arrived just five minutes past the cutoff after rushing through traffic, and was still turned away. They said I’d be credited, but that never happened. The truth is, unless you book way in advance, it’s nearly impossible to get into a class. If you get off the waitlist at the last minute and can’t make it, you’re penalized. It’s incredibly inconvenient and unpredictable. You basically have to put your life on hold.

This is for the communication that need to happen for someone who has never been to Pilates. Say it upright that for intro class even if you are TWO MINUTES late, you won’t be allowed. I received atleast 10 messages regarding liability form and socks and none of the person cared to mention that. Drove 20 mins for a 7:30 class, I reached at 7:32!! As much as I understand the rules, I would like to know it in advance specially when you are telling all other things in every text! I would have rescheduled instead of rushing. I am not coming to at least this center just because it felt like no one cared and valued.

I was a member for 3 months and the only instructor that I like was Marine! She’s great. Cost vs benefit nah… I currently work 8 hours a day and their schedules are not flexible for me. If you can not go they still charge you for the class and you miss the credit. Thanks!
