Listen! If you're looking for someone to work with at this place who is STELLAR beyond words, check-in for Patrick (who is the pharmacist) and Janet (and I'm so sorry Janet, doll, I don't know your credentials, and I don't want to guess, so I'm just going to say you're EXTRAORDINARY and leave it at that ;)), but these two will ABSOLUTELY get you whatever it is you need. Now, Patrick and Janet are your FIVE STAR string, for sure! ;)
Just like in other places, sadly, and this is a giant complaint I have with pharmacy employees... sometimes they just don't _listen_, they think they _hear_... hear whatever it is they _WANT_ to hear (bias is like GIANT in this industry, sadly, but you just don't feel that from these two!), anyway. Soapbox issue, but when you tell them you need a medication _ordered_ because you'd like to get it for the day it's prescribed, what they tend to hear is "I want my medicine NOW." And not exactly what you've asked for... for them to make sure it's in stock for the FILL DATE. =D
Again, it's a frustration that many of us feel from ALL pharmacies, and as much as I'd like to say this one isn't one of those... it can't be said. I've had to go to another branch on many occasions, and when you take into consideration the time it takes from not only the patient (you must call your doctor, explain the situation, they have to call the pharmacy, retract their first order, reorder at ANOTHER pharmacy, where they may not know you, give all your information again, wait however long for the prescription to be made available...), it's just a MESS.
But I've never had this case when Patrick and Janet were in charge of the situation. Many many many appreciative vibes sent their way!
This is not to say that everyone is described as above, and I won't name names... just... if you are a patient who travels a lot (like me, I teach, and as an author, I have other obligations that aren't in town) or just someone who relies on a specific set schedule, do yourself a favor and have your doctor submit your needs at least three days in advance (some days it takes two days to get your medicine ordered). Then, two days prior to your prescription (but before 3PM), call the PHARMACIST (only!!) and clarify that they have the medication on hand and that'll be ready ON YOUR FILL DATE (each part is important, but that last particularly so).
And if you want to be sure everything is super awesome, do it through these two! =DDD (The issue with listening/hearing is the only reason this place doesn't get the full five stars).
It might not sound like it fully, but I thank everyone for all the work that they do for their continued supporting customers...which, I am one!
