Giving this review a year after my delivery. I highly highly recommend Craig ranch obgyn midwives. Very caring, very attentive. From the start to finish they were truly great. If I have another child I will definitely be coming back. If I could give 10 stars I would, which is a lot better than my first pregnancy experience elsewhere.

Let’s Really Talk

I went to this Gynecologist clinic cause it claims to deal with endometriosis. I will say the doctor was kind and let me know I had kissing cysts with deep infiltration of the endometriosis. Bc it was severe and complex she referred to an oncologist to look further and do the surgery since she stated he would know more about it and if it was cancerous in anyway it could be dealt with. That said I was not impressed with the staff. The MA seemed half asleep and was hard to understand bc she spoke so low and looked like she didn’t want to be there. When she said a transvaginal needed to be done she didn’t leave the room or say anything. I had to literally ask if she wanted me to get undressed or not. Which she mumbled you can if you want to.
Then when I went down to get a blood draw the nurse couldn’t do it. After the Second attempt I stopped it and just rescheduled for later. That night I began having pretty moderate to sometimes severe cramps. So I called the office to get some pain meds. To help with the pain. I had to call multiple times bc you couldn’t get through. When a nurse did call me, she said “WHY Do you want pain meds for? Like giving me the 3rd degree for asking. I told her I had large cysts and I was in pain. She stated “Well she isn’t going to give you anything but Advil!” I said ok well she needs to be told regardless and to have her call me. She said “Well she is in surgery most of the day so she won’t get to it till later “
Then hung up. I am not impressed at all with the staff here. There is no reason to be rude and condescending. Especially when you don’t know what the patient has going on. I am fine with the referral to go elsewhere and get this taken care of. But I would not recommend this place to anyone due to how I was treated. Like I was unconvincing them.
Update: I tried calling the doctor back later in the day to discuss the issues that were going on and to give me some kind of pain medication so I could function in my day to day till surgery could be done. The same rude nurse called back. I told her I need to speak with the doctor about these issues and for pain medication. She said “I TOLD YOU SHE WASN’T HERE TODAY! She is in surgery, The doctor said if you can’t wait till tomorrow then go to the ER.
I told her that’s not what you stated earlier. You stated she was in surgery till the later part of the day. You did not say she was not in today at all. And if she is not in how are you talking to her? Bc if she is able to speak with you, then you should have let her know what my issues are so I can get my medication and discuss it with her the following day. I ended up hanging up on the rude nurse. And will contact the Doctor the next day. To be treated so poorly as if my request was an inconvenience to her and to be given the 3rd degree for not wanting to be in constant pain. And to act as if I was drug seeking when I have legitimate medical issues going on that cause a tremendous amount of pain. Endometriosis especially when it’s severe like mine where you have large Kissing ovaries and adhesions and scar tissue everywhere causing severe inflammation and pain in my abdomen making simple tasks difficult. She better hope karma doesn’t come around where she has the same issues and gets treated the same way that she treats others.
But looking at the reviews, all the negative reviews are similar to mine where the MA and nursing staff there are absolutely terrible. With majority of patients making complaints about the staff. Which is bad, bc the doctors are good. This place needs to do an overhaul on their staff and retraining on how to interact with patients. They are going to lose more patients if this isn’t resolved or get sued bc the staff isn’t telling the doctors that an issue is going on. I am actually happy I was referred to someone else. Bc I would not be able to deal with this kind of behavior for any length of time. Especially in such a stressful time that im going through

DO NOT GO HERE! All the employees are incredibly rude. They are beyond slow. They misdiagnosed me, which led me to get INCREDIBLY sick based off the medication they gave me. Multiple close friends of mine have also had a TERRIBLE experience here. Ladies stay safe & do not go here!
Dr. Shea Joyner is truly the best professional for women’s health. I’ve been a long time patient for decades. Her bedside manner is compassionate and authentic. She wants the very best for her patients! I’ve had horrible UTI’s over the years, and my general practitioner was coming up short. Shea checked which antibiotic would be most effective, put me on low dose estrogen, and referred me to a trusted urologist to get answers on what may be causing this. I can really see the concern in her face. There’s no way I would ever go to anyone else!! God bless this wonderful lady.
This was my first visit to this location. The front desk staff in Suite 220 were very kind and welcoming, and I appreciated their professionalism.
Unfortunately, my experience with Midwife Jane was frustrating due to her communication style. She spoke extremely fast, which made it difficult to understand the information she was giving. I often had to repeat my questions just to get clarification.
What bothered me the most was that I could not even finish a full sentence when asking a question without being interrupted. Being interrupted multiple times while trying to speak felt disrespectful and made it difficult to have a productive conversation about my health concerns.
Those interruptions were red flags for me. Clear and respectful communication is important in a healthcare setting, and I believe providers should be aware of how their behavior can affect patients during appointments. Because of this experience, I requested a different midwife upon my next appointment. This was simply me taking preventative action to avoid potential communication problems in the future and to make sure I am working with a provider whose communication style allows patients to be heard.
