If I could rate this company a zero star I would! First my son’s chair is made the cheapest way possible, he is less than a year in and it’s falling apart! I can’t imagine how it would last 5 years! I had an appt for a shower chair for a kid that has seizures and wanted to give me a basic shower chair, what am I to do with that? I scheduled ANOTHER appointment for one that he needs not one they can offer anyone. And THEY ARE LATE!!! I called and their excuse was the appointment was within the hour . So are you telling me he can come LATE because he’s within his time frame? So what if he takes longer than expected? No thank you I’ll be looking for someone else with much more credibility .

As a case manager, coordinating services especially durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs and car seats, can often be a challenging and time-sensitive process. Working with Sally Cordova in the McAllen office, however, was truly seamless.
Sally was extremely helpful, easy to communicate with, and readily available when needed. Her responsiveness and professionalism made it possible to coordinate services quickly and efficiently for our client. This level of support truly stands out and makes a meaningful difference in ensuring clients receive timely services.
I wanted to take a moment to recognize Sally’s outstanding customer service and dedication. It is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
