- TNTony NixOct 19, 20252.0I get there only to be told that there’s no doctor on that site that they do some kind of virtual voodoo for eye exams. Absolutely not, I want a Dr looking at my eyes in person the way it should be. Seems like lazy optometry to me. I left!

While my exam is fully covered by insurance, I was told I’d need to pay an extra $40 for the retinal exam because there wasn’t a physical doctor in the office. Instead, you’re connected to a doctor virtually through a TV screen. The front desk staff was very kind and took the time to explain the process, which I appreciated. But I still find it frustrating and strange that I’d have to pay more simply because there isn’t an in-person doctor available. It doesn’t feel right to be charged extra for something that seems like a workaround, especially when most people expect to see their doctor face-to-face during an eye exam.
