Scheduled several weeks in advance - filled out all the forms as soon as they were sent via text, including all of the insurance info. Checked in via the link on arrival. Started waiting. While waiting, determined that another gentleman who’d been to the practice at least 2-3 other times, was experiencing frustration at the delay (that he’s also realty with at previous appointments) - due entirely to a redundant benefit verification. When his hasn’t changed (military). Similarly, we waited with our daughter for over an hour, and at first the desk ladies claimed not to see our insurance. Then they needed us to repeat the info that *was* provided on the insurance cards uploaded from the beginning. Lazy! Did all that. In addition to the military gentleman, two of women had been seated in the waiting area when we arrived. So they’d been there before us. After over an hour, only one had been called back. As the desk ladies overheard me telling my husband and daughter that we’re better off leaving and getting established elsewhere (because from his experience, it’s not a one off thing)… they called over and said, oh we just have another form or two to fill out. Said NO THANKS and left. Reflecting on the pattern, they are playing on phones for one, but more to the issue, the fact that this practice “specializes” in affordable care. Know how? By meticulous incompetence in exacting specific payout numbers from those with chargeable insurance. We use a different plan that’s also military/veteran associated. They spend SO much time determining the max chargeable, but only at their leisure while patients wait forever. AVOID, avoid, *avoid.*
