I have been seeing Dr Steed since before Dr. Gustafson retired. Although I am sure we all miss Dr. Gustafson we are happy that he is relaxing and doing whatever he loves in his retirement. I believe Dr. Gustafson made a great choice in picking his replacement. Dr. Steed has always been very professional and caring. He does not rush, is very thorough, and genuinely cares about whatever might be going on with you. I would highly recommend him for all of your vision needs.
I would also like to compliment his staff. Most of them have been there for many years and are always a pleasure to see. I am sure the transition was difficult after working with Dr. Gustafson for so long then having to relearn a brand new doctor. They seemed to have transitioned well and made a very comfortable office environment for patients and staff.
The wait times are minimal which I appreciate. The office hours are very flexible so if you have a job they usually have a time that will work for most people. This is just a great place overall!

Frequently Asked Questions About Larson Vision Care
How often should I get my eyes examined?
For adults without vision issues or risk factors, a comprehensive eye exam is recommended every two years. Individuals over 65, those using corrective lenses, or with risk factors such as diabetes should schedule annual examinations. For children, the first exam should occur between 6-12 months, with follow-ups at age 3 and prior to entering first grade.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring the following items to your appointment: your current eyewear (glasses or contacts), a comprehensive list of medications you're taking, your medical and ocular history, insurance documentation, any questions or concerns you'd like to address, and sunglasses as your eyes may be dilated during the examination.
Will my eyes be dilated during the exam?
Eye dilation may be part of your comprehensive exam as it allows for a thorough retinal examination. If your eyes are dilated, you may experience light sensitivity and difficulty focusing on near objects for 4-6 hours post-examination. We recommend arranging transportation home as a precautionary measure.
How often should I replace my contact lenses?
The replacement schedule for contact lenses varies based on the type prescribed: daily disposables should be replaced each day, two-week lenses every fortnight, and monthly lenses on a monthly basis. It's crucial to adhere to the specific instructions provided by your eye care professional and never exceed the recommended wear time.
What services does Larson Vision Care offer?
Larson Vision Care provides comprehensive eye care services including: comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings and evaluations, management of ocular diseases, co-management of laser vision correction and cataract surgeries, as well as eyewear selection and styling consultations.
How do I know if I need glasses?
Indications that you may require vision correction include: experiencing blurred vision at any distance, recurring headaches, persistent eye strain, frequent squinting, difficulty with night vision, and eye fatigue when engaging in reading or digital device use.
Contact lenses or glasses - which is better?
The choice between contact lenses and glasses depends on individual factors such as lifestyle, comfort preferences, and ocular health. Contact lenses provide a more natural field of vision and are advantageous for sports activities, but require diligent care. Glasses offer easier maintenance and can provide additional eye protection, though they may not be suitable for all activities.
