  I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment last week and found the waiting room completely empty, with no one at the reception desk. After several minutes, someone came out from the back to ask if I had an appointment, then disappeared again. Shortly after, another staff member emerged and requested my insurance card, despite it already being uploaded to their patient portal. I was then incorrectly informed that my insurance was not accepted—even though I located the practice through my insurance provider’s website. After several minutes of reviewing the system, staff confirmed that my insurance was valid. A third person then came out to make photocopies of my license and insurance cards. While doing so, she asked whether I was interested in GLP medications, despite my intake questionnaire clearly stating that I am not interested in weight-loss drugs. By this point, nearly 15 minutes had passed beyond my appointment time, and I had still not been seen by a licensed practitioner. I was then advised to self-pay instead of using my insurance. At that point—well past my scheduled time—I informed them I was no longer interested in proceeding and requested that the photocopies of my personal documents be destroyed. When told this would be done later, I insisted it be done immediately and in my presence. I was then informed that there was no shredder on site, raising serious concerns about the handling of sensitive personal information. I requested the copies back and left. The entire experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and deeply concerning. My appointment had been scheduled for two weeks, providing ample time to verify insurance and appointment details in advance—yet no such effort was made. I would strongly advise others to avoid this practice.
