I was hopeful my issue would be resolved by going here, but it was a waste of time. I had gone to an endodontist who evidently spoke with you prior to my appointment and YOU had told him you thought my problem was dysplasia (which is what prompted me to see you), yet when I arrived you pretended not to know what dysplasia was. You also wrongly identified my issue. It's not just "some" deviation of the septum. As I attempted to tell you, there is like an actual tear or disconnection of some sort where the base of the septum meets the gumline and nostril. I can feel a split. I sure HOPE the ENT I go to will be able to identify and HELP ME. ThAnKs!!!!

Dr. Morris is exceptional. Superb oral surgeon with personal care. Did not hesitate to provide after hours care when my daughter experienced an issue after her surgery that required immediate attention. It was 1 am! Dr. Morris met us at the office and fixed the issue. Had such a caring and funny attitude (mind you it was past 1 am) that my 11 year old daughter felt at ease despite the situation. He called several hours after to check up on her. And yes! Dr. Morris fixed the problem perfectly! Wonderful oral surgeon and highly recommended.

The entire staff was wonderful, especially Crystal, who was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Morris and his team for anyone needing oral surgery!
Frequently Asked Questions About Katy Center for Oral & Facial Surgery
Do I need my wisdom teeth?
Wisdom teeth are not essential for proper oral function. Your teeth can function normally without them. In rare cases where wisdom teeth align correctly and gum tissue is healthy, removal may not be necessary. However, even well-aligned wisdom teeth are susceptible to disease and should be monitored annually by a dental professional.
Why should I have my wisdom teeth removed?
Approximately 90% of individuals experience issues with at least one wisdom tooth. Problems often arise when wisdom teeth become impacted, causing pain and potential complications. Early removal can prevent these issues and simplify the extraction process. Our oral surgeons at COFS are highly experienced in handling complex cases, making them a preferred choice for referrals in the Houston area.
What can I eat after wisdom tooth removal?
Following wisdom tooth extraction, it's crucial to consume soft foods that don't require significant chewing or jaw movement. Avoid spicy, acidic, or hard foods. Opt for items like mashed potatoes, broths, and ice cream. After eating, it's essential to rinse the surgical area with warm water to remove any food particles. Your oral surgeon will provide detailed post-operative dietary instructions and tools for proper care.
What should I expect after having my wisdom teeth removed?
Post-extraction, patients often experience relief from previous pain caused by impacted wisdom teeth. You may notice the absence of the removed tooth and feel some soreness in your jaw and gums, which typically subsides within a few days. Dissolvable stitches may be present. Your oral surgeon will provide comprehensive post-operative instructions, including dietary restrictions and care guidelines to ensure proper healing.
How long is the recovery time?
Recovery duration varies among patients and depends on factors such as age and the complexity of the extraction. Generally, minor discomfort and swelling may persist for two to seven days. Older patients or those who delayed extraction until experiencing pain may have a slightly longer recovery period. Your oral surgeon may prescribe medication to manage any post-operative discomfort.
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are small titanium posts surgically inserted into the jawbone to replace missing tooth roots. These posts bond with the bone, creating a sturdy foundation for artificial teeth. Small connectors attached to the implants protrude through the gums, serving as secure anchors for replacement teeth.
What types of prosthesis are available?
Dental implants can support various prosthetic options. A single crown replaces one tooth, while a partial fixed bridge can replace multiple teeth using two or more implants. A complete fixed bridge replaces all teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Removable prostheses (overdentures) attach to implants using specialized connectors. The number of implants required depends on the type of prosthesis chosen.
Are you a candidate for implants?
Determining candidacy for dental implants requires a comprehensive oral examination and review of your medical and dental history. If your oral condition is not ideal for implants, your surgeon may recommend procedures to improve outcomes, such as bone grafting.
Do implants need special care?
Dental implants can provide long-lasting results with proper maintenance. To ensure their longevity, it's essential to practice good oral hygiene, including regular brushing and flossing. Additionally, maintaining scheduled appointments with your dental specialists is crucial for the ongoing health of your implants and overall oral well-being.
